Economy just ended my season before it began

I sympathise... Kind of. My parent's business has turned to shit and that's putting huge stress on them. I don't care about the money really (I'm 18... at university) because it wont affect me.
I'm still so thankful for my life though. I probably have a better life than 99% of the world.
 
2 ski houses? Fuck you, you fuckin troll. If you have 2 ski houses you are:

1. clearly an idiot.

2. are a rich fuck

3. is either in debt or skrewed
 
i live in australia! i drive for a day to get remotely near a skiable mountain (or fly 2hours + drive 2 hours). You're lucky you're only 4 hours drive away.
 
the drive to my mountain is 10 minutes, and it was the only mountain i skied at this entire season. my mountain = shitty park and like 8 or 9 other legit trails. screw CNY
 
I just moved to Yellowknife and there isn't a single ski resort in the territory (equivalent of state), we have a gravel pit with a few rails and boxes, and one in-run for a larger jump. you hike every run. love skiing? you learn to make do and appreciate what you have.
 
I think I would rather have a shitty hill 10 minutes away than having to drive a few hours to get to the mountains.
 
Lemme set one thing straight.. i'm NOT a rich fuck. If anything, im worse off than 99% of NS. House is under foreclosure. College fund is gone. Dad's jobless.. shit went downhill fast

Skiing is the least of my problems.
 
I'm not going to be a douche, that honestly sucks. Its not the material things in life that determine whether or not we're blessed though, and I don't see any reason why you had it any better than anyone else before this happened(or why all these people are complaining). Either way, keep your head up, stay skiing, and learn as much as possible from this new perspective! Credit crisis fucked shit up, you'll make it out ok though.

This year me and my friends drove for 3 hours to get to a not shitty park, luckily it was the canyons in park city, best day of year, very worth the 3 hour drive was so worth it. who cares about driving, just get up at 6, drive for a few hours, get there by 9 and your set, just because you cant get up at the crack of dawn to walk outside and ski doesn't mean you can have a full day of skiing.
 
you mean 12 hours overnight on a slightly inclined ice rink while it's raining? yep, sounds like the east coast to me!
 
i sympathise as welli have never had/rented a ski house but i have family in colorado so i go there a few times a yearsince the economy is shit right now im not going out west any time soonbut i like east coast skiingalso, i as well have a privilaged life and at least ive gone out west the amount of times that i have

yeah dude, i feel you, the bank repo'd my gulfsteam 5 so now all I have is a shitty gulfstream 4. And on top of that i chipped a tooth on my 24ct gold grill, thats gonna cost skrilla. Then i got a flat on my caddy, and i can't fix that kinda shit so i have to go and buy a new whole new range rover. And shittttt son, i ONLY sold 40 pound of chron last years so i dont think i'll be able to afford that house in aspen and house in vail, imma have to rent on of those puppys out for the winter.
