curious who goes there, i went last season and had a blast, how is it there this season?

this summer im moving back to CO and think im getting a summit pass ans a pass to echo.

I was looking to go there this week and last, but I think Echo got rid of the $25 weekday ticket, so yeah, not paying $43 for a day pass. Looks fun tho.
 
when i went to echo last year it sucked dick. it pissed me off, they are an all park mountain but have a shit park. its seems to me like they take no pride in anything. i refuse to even spend my money there. if you get a colorado pass then you dont need an echo one
 
In theory its a great idea, but they haven't materialized the dream.

Honestly, its only 20 or so minutes shorter than summit.

It's not that cheap, and they have little to entertain me.
 
I'm friends with the guy who was running Echo last year. Haven't spoken to him this season, but he is a marketing guy who got put in the position of running the place because the previous guy almost put it into bankruptcy after 2 seasons. Not to be a dick, but there is no way that a park only area will ever survive. Everybody disses on the gapers, but the gapers pay for our fun. The only way to keep Echo alive was to try and attract families from Denver. For that you need a beginner run and a few intermediate runs without monster step downs on them. Just checked the website and my buddy's history. I hope Echo can stay open. It's cool having a park that close. I think they should snowflex half the area and keep it open all year round.
 
Chad Lee. He's a stud. I'd hire him in a second. I spoke to him a few nights ago and he was layed off last summer. He was too expensive for them.
 
I dont remember a chad lee unless he was the older dude who would come once in a while, the new park forman is dope and knows whats up and actually knows how to build fun jumps.

 
Chad wasn't a builder. He was Director of Marketing. He ran the place after they realized that the owner's son was going to run it into the ground. That's awesome if they have a good park builder. The problem is that they don't market anymore, they seem to have doubled the size of their staff, the economy sucks, and, unless they are getting a lot of people to go up, buy lift tickets whocan also afford to buy lunch and a beer after skiiing, echo will be going bye bye. I really want echo to make it, but when Vail Resorts starts announcing company wide salary reductions, you have to wonder what that's doing to the little guys. PS - Watch the old dude comments. Don't make me smack you upside the head with my walker :-)
