ECat - Unlimited Energy

Italian inventor Andreas Rossi has teamed up with one of the most respected scientists in the Nickel-Hydrogen field, Professor Emeritus Sergio Focardi of the Bologna University, to make a purported reactor that will produce an electrical energy output 6 times larger than the input. If this comes to be true, then fossil fuels will become a thing of a past and clean, reliable energy will be available.

I have no understanding of how the process works, other than with some "magical" catalyst that causes hydrogen to combine with nickel, surpassing the Coulomb barrier, to make copper.

I am very skeptical of their claims. However, on the website (link below) there is a Q&A section where you can ask questions that can be answered by Andreas Rossi himself.

The current, 1MW units sell for 1.5 million each, but could be used to heat an entire building for 20-30 years.

Many chemists and physicists argue, however that the process seemingly "doesn't agree with generally accepted laws of physics".

I for one think this could be an incredible discovery, but to think scientifically you must doubt until evidence is proven. Think of how amazing the world would be if we did not depend on fossil fuels.

Interesting thread, but raspberry, did you know that Bologna University is Europe's oldest university? :p

Have a look in the courses online, try "Veterinary Medicine" for cured meats.

I guess otherwise you could try food science and technology, food technology, or animal production and wildlife management.

lol

"The prototype, called "energy catalyzer", shocks everyone. In the internal

chamber a reaction between nanometric granular nickel and hydrogen gas,

aided by a secret catalyzer, releases a stunning amount of energy."

Totally legit, you just need the "secret catalyzer".

Well, the 1MW editions are shipping this year I believe, so when they are shipped then I guess we will see what the secret catalyzer is. Rossi got a patent for it, I don't think it's bullshit. Although secret catalyzer does sound shady...

Coulombs Forces are inversely exponentially proportional to the distance from a test charge.

In other words as you get really close to a charge emitting an electric field the energy required to get any closer is immense. This makes me seriously doubt the validity that there is a surplus of energy from the reaction.

I could easily be misunderstanding this but mathmatically the formula for the magnitude of force between two charges is given by

F = [k][Q(1)][Q(2)][r^-2]

As "r" approaches 0 aka the distance between two charges is nothing you see that the equation will not allow for this to happen b/c you can't divide by 0 and furthermore it shows the relationship of the forces required at given distances.

ya this is just like the polish dr in texas that has found a "cure" for cancer. He is being sued out of business by drug companies. Treatment of cancer is such a large business that curing it is simply unprofitable in their eyes. Same will happen with this. They will make it work and oil producers and oil profiteers will make it nearly impossible to get this energy to the end consumer. Sounds like some sweet magic tho

the secret catalyser: francium, jk but this is the same guy who did that whole petrol-dragon shit that fucked up the environment and made false clams about new discoveries. might wanna do a background check before you buy into this shit.

I already did do a background check, and I'm not buying into anything only speculating. And his charges of fraud were acquitted.
