Ebay question:

So, for folks who use Ebay, check this out. Why is it that people winning auction for freeride ski stuff all have the same formula for their name? It is a letter or character, followed by three asterisks, ten a letter or character. For example: j***0 Can someone explain this to me? It is because Ebay changed the format of user name requirements or some sort of weird conspiracy of a company that wants to buy up lots of stuff to sell later? It happens a ton with snowboarding stuff as well.

Seriously check it out. Look at the winning bidder for all K2 Seth Vicious, or Line Prophet skis, or Armada skis or 4FRNT skis. Is this odd to anyone else? Someone explain this to me.

i thought it was weird too, but they are fake names. ebay puts them up to protect the names of the users. i am looking at stereo power amps and its the same way. they just hide the names of the accounts so i guess people dont harass them if they get outbid or something

ahhh okay. I figured it was something strange that Ebay did since there is no way there could be that many people using that name formula, but that makes sense. Thanks. I would guess it is an option for the seller. Good call.
