I bought a camera on ebay from a user that looked legit and had 100% feedback, good responses and used paypal. but now he hasnt contacted me since he said that he shipped the camera. its been 12 days since he said he shipped it and it was supposed to take 2-3 days. I've emaied him constantly and tried calling him but his number is disconnected. I opened a paypal dispute, and will escalate it to a claim if he doesnt respond in the next couple of days. any advice or tips? thanks, and this is really lame...

Ebay and Paypal are TERRIBLE about settling claims from buyers OR sellers, they are freakin criminals. Hopefully your guy doesn't respond to the claim that it automatically is ruled in your favor but dont be surprised if he makes some bs response like 5 minutes before his time is up.

If you run into trouble and you paid with a CC just do a chargeback.

I've always had very good experiences w/Ebay/PayPal from the buyer's side. The seller's side is much worse, regardless of your feedback rating.

Unfortunately, PayPal gives the seller 90 days to respond to the incident and they are extremely slow at processing claims. You may be without your money for 3-6 months.

Here is probably the best link you will ever run across. It will speed up your claim 10 fold. Just don't be a prick on the phone and they won't ignore you.

something like that happened with my ipod nano expect i waited A MONTH! yeah i cant believe i did that, but anyways i setup a claim with paypal and it was all good after about a day or two. go back to the page of the auction and check if there is a little P symbol on the page, that means paypal covers you
