Ebay and fbi BS

Okay so I put my HDR FX1 on ebay and just put a pretty high reserve so I got what I wanted out of it, and some dude is like turning me into the fraud unit for some weird crap? What the heck would you do? The guy is like the biggest retard EVER. Like he is like Why don't you have everything that came in the box with it new? Like the cables and stuff, and I want to keep the cables what the hell? Why can't I sell what I want for my price?

if you bought this camcorder you should have this. why is it not included? with a 2,899.00 price from Vann's in Montana why is the reserve so high? If this email is not responded to by 3 pm pdt today I will refer this to the fraud unit.

And another question....

there at least 6 missing pieces where are they. if you bought it new you'd still have them. BYW the drum hours are in a menu in the camera

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I WOULD HAVE EVERYTHING. I BOUGHT IT NEW LIKE 4 MONTHS AGO/ This better not mess up my auction/

HAHAHAHAHA i'm lmao right now

this guy thinks hes some hot shit cause he's doing ebay a world of good. listen, if you clearly stated what you are selling and for what price, then there is NOTHING this dumbshit can do about it. HAHAHAHAH, still laughing at his stupid ass

sounds like a shitty deal...i would try to talk to the guy like on the phone or at LEAST email him...i hate having to deal with close minded anal people like that

you gotta be really specific posting up stuff on ebay. there is always someone looking to rip you off.

If you did then he has no grounds. Post up the link to your auction

Take a picture of it with a newspaper or hold it up against your computer with his emails in the background. Should shut him up.

first off... why would you want to keep the cables? they are of no use to you once u seel the camera.

second, he cant do anything with the camera without cords, so noone will buy it unless u give the cords dumbass.

im not saying ur fraud, just saying ur dumb for not including the cords needed to use the fucking camera.

sure u can post "no cords only camera" but who in their right mind would but a $3000 camera that they cant even get pictures off or charge the battery?

Maybe the person buying it has cables already or maybe the person selling it has another need for the cables.

think about it... the cables only work for THAT camera. you have no need for cables that wont fit into another.

thats not true. alot of cameras use universal cords. the power cord may be different but to connect to the computer it might be the same. what if the guy buying it already has one of those cameras anyway

Yea you could have avoided this. It's like if you were to sell someone an xbox, would you sell it to them with no cables? No, they cant use it then. Same with a camera.

wow i just looked up the retail price and its 5k

http://www.vistek.ca/details/details.aspx?WebCode=217525&CategoryID=VideoCamcorders

and a reserve of under 3k id say thats pretty good (still considering the fact that is missing the cables) but if someone is just gona go buy a camera like that, they should already have the cables. most cameras use a standard AC power adaptor to charge it and such, and a firewire cable to capture. if anyone is to buy that camera (and they should have a damn good knowledge of videography in order to buy a camera like that) they should already have the cables. in my mind i think its an advantage selling it without the cables cause it will save the buyer a small sum of money.

dude you guys are completly just ignorant... why if hes buying a "good" camera should he already have the cords?

that is by far the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

why do you think when u buy something new, the cords are INCLUDED?????2#3/?#@

i guess sony could just say "well hes buying a good camera, i bet he has cables so we wont include"

and save him money??? ya right, they are included with the camera.

LASTLY...

the only reason someone would not include cables is because they stole the camera from someone.

think about it... the seller will have no use for those cables. anything new he buys will have cables.

im not saying that but thats what selling something with no cords implies. comeon get ur head outta ur ass and think.

why do you think u cant sell cd's without the case/book? cuz most likely they are stolen.

they wont fit in anything else.

havent you ever bought an electronic?

everything is different, and sony I know for a fact has a dumb ass power cord that WILL NOT fit into anything else.

I own an HDR-FX1 and all of the cords are the universal cords. In fact the only cord that is sony specific is the charger. So the buyer can go to radio shack and get most of the cords for under a hundred dollars. Sounds like a deal to me.

computer cord the same, yes. but not everyone has firewire.

a/v cables ARE NOT ALL THE SAME. I have 2 camcorders and they are different.

power - definatly different for all brands and sometimes model of camcorder.

again answer me this... why need to keep the cords when EVERY new electronic will come with the cords? it makes no sense to keep them, when you will get new cords with the next product you buy

Sounds kinda foolish to base your entire argument on only 2 cameras you've used. Chill thhe fuck out, lots of people have uses for the cables that are included, since as stated above the majority of them are universal.

I don't understand you guys...what's the big deal if he doesn't want to include the cords? Depending on which one(s) this would be ok. For instance, the one to transfer the footage to your computer- universal.

Kind of weird, I admit, but whatever.

because its EBAY.....people do this all the time. That is the beauty of EBAY. If he wants to keep the cords then FANTASTIC.....who cares, your not bidding on it are you? If he didn't say the cables were not included then he is screwed, but if he did....WHO CARES, people do this all the time on ebay, you can get great deals this way and just buy the cables later.

he bought the camera. he is now auctioning it off, and keeping the cables that he bought and rightfully owns.

the person buying the camera should know if he put it in the description that he will have to buy the cables somewhere else. i daresay if you have 3k to drop on a camera, you can manage to buy the cables for it.

why is this so hard?

do any of you listen?

so what use does he have for the transfer cable if he has no camera after the sale?

u say oh he will buy a new one...

AND THAT NEW ONE COMES WITH CABLES

im not talking quantum physics here people, its just common sense.

Did he say he was going to buy a new one??

Maybe he wants to sell them on ebay too, to make more money.

OMG what are you talking about?

so raise the price $100 on the camera and include the cables.

there u just sold the cables too

all you teens who think they are the shit, need to shut the fuck up and think before you talk to me.

haha well, that makes perfect sense to me. On rhe orher hand, who cares why he wants them. He wants them for some reason or another, so why worry about it. He is selling the camera without cords. so be it.

and the ebay guy sounds like a complete tool.

dont bother arguing with d-loc...he is the all knowing being of the universe so whatever he says must be true.

the guy never said what he did or did not include or what he had listed. So maybe he kept the firewire and av cable cause he has similar camera, but did send the guy the power adapter.

Every cable can be bought off ebay...so its not like the guy bought a useless camera. I have bought tons of obscure connections so with a little searching this guy can get whatever he needs again.

ever think he has 2 cameras and only one set of these cords?

i don't even think he has to say it wasn't including the cords...as long as he said what he was selling specifically he's golden. don't assume online.

d-loc is the only ne thinking with his brain in this thread.

I'm not going to say much else because d-loc has said it perfectly.

There is no reason why he would keep those cables. It just make sense. Even if he needed a cable to replace a broken one, then why wouldn't he include the others... unless every single cable is broken... ... ...

I'm guessing that most of you are not familiar with the term Occam's Razor.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam's_Razor

i had an ipod that had broken and the warranty didnt cover it and i wanted a new one...i simply went onto ebay and bought a new one that didnt come with cords because i didnt need them...simple as that...before you buy shit on ebay ask the seller questions about it so you dont get fucked..."defensive buying"

again even Occam's Razor assumes you are presented with all or at least adequate facts to draw a conclusion. We do not know what he did or did-not include

Since Gotama I not here to back himself up on this one. And I am the one selling the damn camera for him, I will explain. Yes, D-loc you can use the friken cords for other cameras, which Cody is doing. He has a couple of GL2s that he is using them for. Also this guy is pissed b/c we are not including the strap, which cody is using for his Nikon DH1. Third this guy thinks the reserve is set to high when you can buy the camera new for only 2,800 or something. The thing he doesn't realize is that it comes with extra batteries which Cody had to buy with the camera. Here is the item if anyone wants to check it out. The guy said he reported our item to the FBI fraud unit, and they would be getting in touch with me. No one has called me about it from anywhere, so I think the guy was just running his mouth.

Question & Answer Answered On

Q: Do you have the instructions? Any cables?

May-07-06

A: Yeah I have the instruction booklet, but no cables.

Q: What comes with it?

May-03-06

A: It comes with the battery, an 8 hour battery, a charger, the box, and a tripod.

Good enough for me...

as in what would a camera-illiterate person have to do with a camera like that? for a starter camera....i think you gota be one fuckign idiot to buy that camera if you have no idea what shutter speed or white balance is. if you need a camcorder to capture good times, buy a compact 1chip, not a professional broadcast quality camera.

and the person who should buy that camera would most likely already have a camera and would like to upgrade to something more professional, hence how they wont need the cables, because they will already have them. ok sure ill take ANOTHER AC power adapter and ANOTHER firewire cable. what business would they have with an extra cable? that ends the cable business.

i do agree that it could imply that it is stolen, but hey, lots of people dont really care. if that person is dumb enough to let a camera like that out of their sight thats their problem. the world is scum and this should be known.

i do agree, however, that the auction wuold seem better if it came with all the cables but its perfectly fine to sell it without the cables.

Wow, ok lots to asnwer. I have GL2s and av cabkles work for all my cams , and my firewire cable that cam with it also. So d loc, your just stupid. Secondly I actually did take that picture, I am a photographer. I mean these are cables you buy it radio shack later for cameras, thats what I do. I just wanted to keep these so I could have to groups using cameras with the same cables. Its not like the charging thing, that would be stupid. Grubix and Dloc are just trying to be annoying its FINE. People like you make everyone elses lives difficult.

Yeah it was a big heist actually, I stole all 3 of my GL2s, both my 17 and 15 inch G4's, My D1h and my rebel, along with like 3 grand in lenses, and somehow I stole multiple cross country road trips that cost more then the gear did also. You are a total dousche

yea dude that guy is retarded. if you didn't say it came with cables then it doesnt!! its not like your gunna post that on you auction saying NO CABLES INCLUDED! that would just hurt your sale haha

Dang, that's impressive. I just bought a GL1 without cables and I just went to RadioShack and bought them. No big deal.
