I from the right coast here. upstate NY. i am thinking that east coast skiers are better allround skiers. anyone agree or disagree..

 
How's that possible without big mts and deep pow with big lines and such?

no you see. we got pow (somtimes) hardpack, groom, kickers, trailed out. trees, and ice. when does E-coast ride ice?

try learning stuff on bulletproof landings, try skiing a pipe that is pure ice, i'd like a west coast skier to try enlightening us east coasters and do soemthing that you dont need 4 feet of powder pillows to help you land.

god people are dumb. You can't say a fucking coast makes better skiers. It's an individual sport, everyone's different. If anything, it's more likely that east coasters might be better at skiing ice, and not able to hander big mountain shit, and vice versa for west coasters. Either way, when you're talking about people that are pro-level skiers, I doubt it makes much difference where they ski, they'll adapt.

I live on the east coast, wouldn't complain, but you're damned right I'd rather ski the west if I had the chance. end of argument.

 
last time i checked, hood, whistler, and mammoth were on the west coast...

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

I am also from northern NY and i used to think that way too when i was young. Then I went to whistler for Camp Of Champs and had more fun with much better skiing in 7 days than in the previous 10 years I had been skiing. The east coast is good and we do have some insane skiers but you can't really compare them. When Whiteface held the bumps and jumps alot of the west coast guys were complaining that the course of too icy (except Tanner), while Dumont ripped it up and won the QP comp. it's different skiing for different styles of skiing.

who said EC skiers cant ski backcountry is stupid. Personally, I skied everything in utah, BC included. but then again the locals skied the same trails everyday, so we were equal. I bet they could handle ice though. It would just take getting used too. I suck in pow, so maybe they suck on ice

interesting though, ski magazine did an article a while ago. they took some people who grew up EC then moved west. about 10-15 years later, they take those people, who have now grow up, back east. they couldn't handle shit

i dont think that really matters, if jon olsson doesnt live on the east coast, it doesnt matter what place you are from. east coast has alot of pipe skiers, like dumont and crichton, east coast has cva skiers, but the west coast has sick locals at resorts across the whole west side of usa. so i would think that if east coast skiers are better thats opinion, every one has a right to one.

TJ and bibby... west. TJ and bibby also both came from the interior, and there are a bunch of kids that skied with them for a long time that are gonna be making it big next. Anyone who night skis at grouse can understand ice too, its not that much harder. West coast is ruling it.
