I agree with OP. To believe that some deluded nomad who wandered the greater jerusalem area turned water into wine, and died and came back to life is absolutely ridiculous. And as Hume pointed out, even if Jesus did perform those miracles it wouldn't mean he was the son of god. Their are many people in the bible and in other legends like mithra for example who are said to have done the same exact things as Jesus, and those stories came before the new testament.
The fact that in 2012 people believe the same fairy tales that were invented in bronze age palestine is crazy. I wish the U.S. was more like Europe. It is funny how our nation was founded by a bunch of deist who hated organized religion (and that was way back in the 18th century) and now its the most devout modern country. Luckily the number of atheists, and agnostics has been on the rise recently.
I leave you with a small question from Hume: What is more likely, a baby being born of a virgin, or that a Jewish Minx should tell a lie.
