East vs. west in the spring

west has full on parks, and lasts till april and may, and june at abay. its also usually sunny, and has the occasional pow day.

from the east so:

cons:

-icy as fuck in the morning, slushy in the after noon

-rainy, shitty, and foggy half the days

-can't get speed for any jump

-rails melting out of the snow

-huge dirt patches

-park closes early

Pros:

-doesn't hurt to fall

-the last two weeks are the best part of the season

in the east you get huge puddles at the bottom of runs so you can do a run and then a mini pond skim, i just cruise around in slush on fat skis and ride through puddles

If you're really far north on the East coast spring is sick. The only bad part is that a lot of places stop taking care of their parks sometime in April. I guess the biggest pro is being able to ride with everyone on the mountain since there's never anyone there. and the on mountain parties that always happen late in the season.

well for the east coast its the best time of the season cuz its warm, no one is at the mountain, everyone is super chill with eachother, everyone is smoking reefer all the time. it's probably bettter in the west but the east is all i got and you can't hate on what you have no matter what. word life.

the east has tucks in the spring though, and tucks is the biggest party of all. if youre into that sort of thing. if youre not, hike up the bowl and get some of your best turns of the year in.

personally i love riding spring in the east, it's really warm, the snow is soft and fun to plow through on fat skis, and the general vibe is so relaxed and fun, everyone's out there getting soaked and having a great time, peak season and spring are so different in terms of the vibes you get while skiing, many fewer asshole new yorkers to deal with in the spring

wow exactly i mean the east might be kind of shitty but the spring vibes cannot be beat. i learn a pretty damn good amount of tricks in the spring and its just shredding with all of ur buddies supper fun

Loon is pretty damn ill in the spring to all the east coast spring haters. That being said I do live in Utah and... its a lot better all the time.

The west has better mountains, more snow, and a longer spring season. Mammoth is always open until memorial day, and many places in Tahoe are too.

I love spring skiing. It's warm, slushy, and the steeps are super fun.
