EAST TO PLAYED OUT!!!

well how can you say that park skiing is all about an image? do you have any factual information you can back that up with? i know that i ski more all mountain compared to park (im an east coaster) but when i do ski the park i could give a shit what people think of me, im just there to have fun and ask most skiiers stadin at the top of a park and they will tell you the same thing. real skiers dont care what others think of them.

Sorry not all ski areas were blessed with 4,000 vertical, insane cliffs and 500 inches annually. So what if East Coast skiers are in the park more than rest of the mountain? Maybe b/c there is a limited amount terrain to ski, where as the park is a place were you can constantly be progressing. Lets face it, if the mountain hasn't gotten snow in a while, skiing groomers all day won't be the funest way to spend your 50 bucks. If you like to ski them fine, but others like to ski park. And if you have a problem with that, you need to think about why you are skiing.

ive already made my point and salomon2003 summed it up agian. next season if u on the EC take a look around. i just think out west its more chill and u dont have to have 'mad steeze' to ski a gnarly line

i think through my skiing experience that i have come to nitce that there tend to be more posers in the parks. mabye this is why you are coming to the conclusion that the park is a fashion show out here but those obviously arent the ones who ski to ski. those are the ones who ski because its the cool thing to do. im not sure where you are from but if you arent from the east coast, you really shouldnt even been talking about this.

i ski for myself.. if my only option was to wear a pink, skin tight, one piece suit, i would take it, just so i could ski. i dont need fancy clothes to make myself look cooler. i dont give a shit about that because i dont care what other people think of me. this brings me to my next point. everybody that skis usually do have options of what they want to wear. no ones going to choose the one piece(unless they want to joke around). theyre most likeyly going to choose the sweet goggles, oakley jacket, pants, brand new skis, etc so they dont look like an idiot. its the way people are, nobodys goin around thinking theyre better than someone just because they have better goggles or skis than someone else. thats just pompas stupidity. people get money and spend it however they want. who cares if someone sucks balls at skiing but has top of the line gear. theyre out there for fun and you shouldnt care about that. skiing is not an image, its a sport, people play sports for fun.. so stop being a nazi and let people do their own thing and at the same time do your own thing.. we wont bitch at you for what you do for fun

Tip-2-Tip We Rule

AGAIN, i did not say that ALL east coasters think this way...but take a look at a shitload of the people on this site...all of them are asking 'is it ok if I wear an oakley jacket AND pants, or is that gay?' WTF is that? they're concerned abotu image! crazerskier is right when he says that out west the ski scene is more chill...maybe that's becuase you don't have 20 people watching you when you're skiing (like you usually do in a terrain park). im not trying to attack anyone- i never said that i have a problem with east coast skiers, i'm just pointing out the obvious

i guees you guys are correct but i think the only reason we are disagreeing is because you live out west and see what goes down in the east from a different perspective. we see it as normal and just deal with it, its really not that big of a deal to begin with. lets just end this thread here cuz its getting stupid now.

i understand where you're coming from...I've been skiing since I was 5 and the park thing came around about 5 years ago...I love the park and i love rails because it's skiing. The truth is anybody with 2 sticks strapped to their feet is a skier with in reason. i live in upstate NY and I ski most of the time at a local mountain. The 'steeze' hasn't hit here yet because at my local mountain penciled out 7's and 9's are way cooler that a 540 safety grab. Be happy with what you got and ski the way that makes you happy....it's supose to be fun not a competition between bump skiers and park skiers or big mountain skiers and urban jibbers. Try and have an appreciation for all aspects of skiing because in the end at least we're not selling crack to dirty prostitutes down south in atlanta where there isn't any snow
