Well next 3 weeks, looks like everything will be cold and snowy there. Tetons are about to get hammered next few days. Then 6-10 days the Sierras and Cascades. Then after that I am saying CO

And its gonna rain out here the whole time.

thats cool with me I've skied the past 2 weekends and plan on skiing again this weekend before it melts

This weather has been so weird back East. It was 24 degrees one night two weekends ago and then today it was 70. I should not be in shorts and flip flops in almost November haha

It's only October though hahaha. Most of the east doesn't see snow until the end of November.

Chill dude. I promise that It will snow here. You will be stoked. You'll have a sick season. Just give it some time (:

Why are some of you east coasters so fair weathered? Pissed as fuck cause the east sucks and bitch about how the west gets snow, but then it snowed a shit ton last year and it was the best place to be. Figure it out already.

YO! THATS SOOOO COOL!!!! WEST IS SO RAD DUDE WOW JAH! SNOW! AWESOME!

its fucking october who gives a fuck if theres snow or not.

People on the east coast have been skiing for weeks now anyways, big fucking whoop

Well, east coast early season looks pretty shitty so far 10 day for killington doesn't even have lows below 30

in other exciting news rain is believed to be wet

man its october....did you just move to the East? Its always hit or miss in October. I could either be surfing or skiing. Patience young padawon

November is even worse. Not warm anymore but not usually cold enough to go skiing yet. Sucks. The struggle is real.

Sounds like you're all just 12 and are noticing weather patterns for the first time.

You get some cold nights even in september, then you get some consistent cold weather, at least at night. Then you get a really warm patch, etc.

That's every year. Nothing to see here folks.

Winter will be here soon enough. Go build a tree fort or something until then.

At least the north east weather makes some sense. Where I was last summer really had no fucking idea what the hell was going on.

I think the weather forecasters drank heavily. Idk how else they could have done their job. Even the good lord Jebus had no idea what the hell was going on. Instead of a 10 day you were lucky to have success with a 10 hour.

I never look at the weather anyway though. I just ask several people and go with the one that sounds the best.

85 sunny

90 sunny

20 and snow

Okay I'll go with the snow guy. Even if it's june.

I'm pretty sure that's how this all works.

If it makes you feel better, it's still 100% dry here in Park City, home of The Best Snow On Earth(tm).

Define 100% dry? It's been sleet/snowing for the last 24 hours it just wasn't cold enough to stick. Pretty par for the course in October.

Maybe you're up a little higher than me, it just rained yesterday here. Not that I'm expecting much, it's only October :)

Last year east got record snow while the rest of the country pretty much got skunked.

skunked is a relative term. i had some of the deepest turns of my life in december.

my east coast mountain is projected to open nov 27th. last year they opened like December 14th...

quit yo bitchin

Projected to open in mid January lol. Any mountain over 500 ft vertical seems huge to me. Gotta love good old Ohio.

According to the way the forecast looks, the Great Lakes area is supposed to be dryer and west/east is supposed to be more powder

These season-long "forecasts" aren't reliable at all and shouldn't be taken seriously. It's all just probabilities based on previous years' data, with huge margin of error taking into account the length of the forecast.

Understand that completely, but for myself living in Michigan, snow has been a lot slower in the beginning of the season, then ramps up towards mid February.

Alright guys let's not forget about how we were saying the same things about the weather in December and the first half of January because we barely got any snow. Then the last half of January+ all of February brought record amounts of snow. Let's not get boners about the west yet, it's only November 1st

Holy shit... based on those numbers my home hills do pretty damn good on snow... Last season I believe we had 180" of snowfall. For two tiny hills in WNY thats pretty impressive compared to a few of those mountains..

My hill cranked out a whopping 19 inches. Most of that was November and march which didn't last. Snow depth never got over 3 inches at one time, that was after the biggest storm of the winter... 2012 was worse. Hopefully this year will be okay

Jesus Christ... Is that with or without snowmaking?

Please tell me without...

I'm convinced Tahoe won't get any snow... because thats just how things work here.

all hype. nothing to show for it.

Yeah, I'm just praying it gets cold enough that we can get the snow machines running. Last year was shitty and weird as fuck. Get 8 inches of lake effect and below zero temps, then the next day it's 50 degrees. Oh well. I like being able to see my reflection on the mountain anyways

That's all I care about at this point in time. This week is supposed to be in the 70s and I just want the cold already so we have a chance to kick on the machines.
