East coast?

recently i have noticed that newschoolers i poluted with kids with names like east coast over dose and peace coast. and all these signatures about how awesome the east is. For some reason i was under the impression that the west coast had way better skiing and less guidos. but then again maybe im wrong. should i be skiing the east right now?

im not trying to be a total dick but do you see kids from the west bragging about where they live and ski?

in my opinon east coast has better parks! and the best skiers always come from the east cuase we can handle veriable snow conditions

ok i live in ny and i can tell you that the east DOES NOT have better parks. i dont know why you would think that.
but i think that people brag for the same reason biggie talks about his life growing up in some tough times. because we are proud of where we are from, and that we can take shitty weather, and that we are progressing despite of rain and ice. and that we arent spoiled bitches.

it's because we're secretly not happy that we live on the east but most of us are high school kids still living at home so we can't really move out west so therefore we talk about the gnarcore east coast because it makes us feel better about not living out west where everybody will agree the skiing is better

that being said, some of my best ski days have been on the east, but probably because i've been skiing here for my entire life

i will say that a lot of good skiers are east coast kids who move out west. growing up skiing here makes you a really solid skier

But the second part of your argument is total bullshit. It's a common stereotype, but it's an incorrect one. Shitty weather? Really? Do you think it always snows in the west? Do you think it doesn't occasionally rain in the mountains? Do you think that we don't get snow, sleet, rain, hail, sun, clouds, thunder and lightning all in one (skiing) day? Perhaps you have all of the common misconceptions about what the west is, because it's far from perfect. Sure, the east gets less snow than the west. That's fair. But that doesn't mean that you have a variable, fickle climate. It just means your climate is less condusive to snowfall. In terms of CLIMATOLOGICAL variability, the east pales in comparison to the Northwest.

yeah, of course i do. what am i supposed to say when someone from mammoth claims a 5 foot weekly snowfall? do you actually think anyone on the east coast likes skiing on ice and slush? the whole east coast pride is like an elaborate sarcastic joke, and your sense of humor just checked out for the night. Its ok you dont understand though, you're one of "them."
/hate
2 inches of rain today, sick.

all the time, they're the ones who bring it up more often

being into the east coast is just being stoked on skiing whereas constantly reminding us that the west is better is just bitchy

they're different things

guidos arent exactly all over the slopes, and skiiers from the east like me are in general excited about skiing all the time because we cant just go out to our back yard have a shitload of snow and just hike a jib we've set up in the back yard, we dont have much snow, so we have to get snow from an ice rink to have any seshs anytime other than in the middle of winter, and this dedication that i say most of us share is caused by a need to ski that cant be fulfilled fully, so we ski any chance we get, also because of the varying conditions, the slopes aren't fluffy with fresh pow most of the time so in general the parks are a focus of any mountain because its a main draw caused by the lack of fresh pow being present all the time

yea see if you see your response to zallion, you'll see that you actually reenforced his point, not disproved it

I moved back to New Hampshire after spending 3 years in Utah skiing 200+ days. This year I have skied at Wildcat, Stowe, Waterville, and Killington. I have to be completely honest skiing here sucks compared to the West. But we all love skiing and you have to make the most of it wherever you are. Kids rep where there from. That's how it should be. Ski The East bitches.

first off its not an argument its a theory, and second i cant believe you are trying to say that the west coast has it rough, we got 2 inches of rain today, utah, cali, colorado are all getting pounded with 10 inches a day. you cant say that the west has bad weather. and no i dont think the west gets snow, sleet, rain hail, sun, clouds, thunder, the only bad one of those is the rain and sleet, the rest are either positiive things or irrelevant.

1. you're an asshole dude2. i'm not referring to weather or climate when i say that the east coast straight up sucks.. we just have less snow = more ice/cookies/bullshit. we aren't spoiled with quality snow all season.
If you are from the west coast, i envy you, but please do not argue with the fact that you are blessed with quality snow all winter.
We can ski on more shit than you can, its not your fault, its your beautiful snow's fault

Is this a fucking joke? You really think it snows around the clock and we can just wake up and choose between skiing three feet of fresh or hitting park? You my friend are sadly mistaken. I live 1:10 from my ski area, where it just snowed 11 feet in five days, yet where I live it has never snowed- NEVER. Over half of us West coasters don't live where it snows. In fact, I'd be willing to bet more of you Easterners have more snow in your backyard than us Westerners. To say I cannot ski on ice is just utter shit. Here in CA it gets warm during the day sometimes, then snow gets soft, freezes overnight and voila you have ice the next morning. The PNW is getting a lot of rain at the hill. Just because you see Eric Pollard out in the BC out West, does not mean it is like that all the time. I am just as stoked to get out and ski powder as an Easterner, I just get to ski more of it more often. You sir are a royal dumbshit and should have a basic understanding of our weather pattern before you hate.

Whoever it was that said they think the East coast has better parks. Watch an edit from Breck, Keystone, or Mammoth, then watch an edit at Mt. Snow, Waterville, or Loon and tell me what looks better. Let's get real, the West is far better for skiing.

As far as heart goes, I believe that anyone who likes skiing and goes out to have fun and enjoy a day on the slopes has just as much heart as the other guy on the opposite coast. Honestly, I get sick of being referred to as a spoiled brat because I get to ski powder, or someone who doesn't have a dedication to the sport. Kids on here are so ignorant. If you love skiing, then you love skiing. Some kids just live in better places for skiing.

Really? You sir are a fine example of one of those "ignorant kids" I referred to in my earlier post. If it rained at my hill, I would be out there skiing, but it RARELY rains, so I've never had the chance to ski in the rain. Ice is definitely existent on the West, so quit bitching about how bad you have it.

Not to rain on your parade dude, but refrozen snow that softens up by the afternoon is nothing like the boiler plate ice in the East.

you westcoast guys are just jelous because we have all the ice and you dont.

i love the east coast, like the cookie avatar man said, alot of people on the west coast dont live near the mountains, the vast majority of people who shred the east coast live within 45 minutes of a ski hill. it might pale in comparison to anything in summit county, but its still a fucking ski hill. im 7 minutes away from my local hill. out west i dont think they even have houses that close to the mountain, its all hotels and resturants and shit.

ill stick with my 100 shred-day a season of icy, slushy, poorly set up shit, versus the 40 or 50 days of awesome i would get out west.

everybody in SLC is outlawed from commenting on my post... you guys have the best of both worlds.

Exactly. I know a kid on here who lives down the street from his mountain and can go ski after school because he has night skiing and the hill is 10 minutes down the road from him. It's like two hours max for him to go to a place like Mt. Snow. That's so sick. Night skiing is scarce out here and not a whole lot of people are in such close proximity to a ski area. SLC is a great city for skiing though. So close, great snow, and all the benefits of a big city.

i lived in Alta, UT the past two winters skiing everyday in the back to back 660+ inches of snow, and now im back east skiing New Hampshire not nearly as much. but being back east groovin around the whole mountahin with youre crew made me realize why i fell in love with skiing in the first place. and i can say from having gotten one amazing deeep ec poaching day this winter that the adrenalin and stoke from a pow day on the east is the best feeling in the world. i love the east, and will rep it till the day i die.But at the same time it hasnt stopped snow it Alta in like a week, and im new hampshire, where its currently raining.

Real G's come out of the east coast, ery kid from the east is reppin talll t's and baggy shit and puttin out every edit then can before the 3 month season is over, west coast takes it for granite hvein so much snow and good shit

how does east coast have better parks,

i can name so many worldclass parks in the west such as copper mammoth keystone buttermilk echo parkcity and a few places at lake tahoe.

what does east coast have?

you guys have like 1 superpipe thats it. 1 good resort, stratton, and that means east coast have better parks?

where do the pro freestyle skiers train?

yeah thought so.

yeah and the rest of the pros are from the west..

the fact that you can name all the east coast pros means something already

alright, jack you seriously need to CHILL. east coast kids aren't magically hypnotized into thinking that the west gets pow every single day, and that you guys never have bad conditions. east coast kids are just super pumped on skiing, whether that be on ice, pow, or rails. east coast skiers are way different. when people say, 'if you can ski in the east, you can ski anywhere', that's honestly true. that's why we have so many sick racers come from here. the east really does suck compared to the west, but that doesn't matter. what matters is that there are TONS of kids out here love skiing, and have the drive. for the most part, west coasters really do take their skiing for granted.

and also, western ice, when it freezes over night, is definitely not as bad as EC ice. EC is straight boiler plate.

you%20are%20an%20idiot.jpg

i like how all three of your posts are in this thread (consecutive also), people like you give a bad name to the west you act like your high and mighty because you have more snowfall and better parks.

you just need to get off your high ass pedestal and stop being a douche

I think that pretty much reiterates his point. "In the morning" you guys may have icy conditions.

we have icy conditions pretty much all day every day.

just sayin'

agree, thats why i rep the 207 hardcore, that and because no one skis maine, haha

haha I like how everyone in arguing who gets more ice.

Everyone gets the small build up of ice from the sun melting snow and then it freezing again at night.

, but the EC gets the rain that makes everything into a literal solid sheet of ice. Sure west also gets rain but they get a shit ton more snow.
