hey, i was gonna start filming this year big time, what do u think of having a video magazine for the east coast?? would you buy it?? VOLUME is the only kind like that, it would be a cool idea for this coast to get one.

i would cover as many competitions as i can, make stops at various mountains for like say a mountain of the video, maybe have 2 in each issue. i would try to get interviews with east coast stars as well. of course it would have just skiing in it as well.

well what do you think, shout I try to start this up?? any other suggestions?

It's a great idea but it would be quite a large undertaking. You would probably want 3 or 4 staff that could film and travel and it certainly wouldn't be cheap.

 
andy, if you're involved in any way, it will be a disaster... besides, I've heard you're ideas and I like them.

east coast is bunk... just go out west and you'll be a lot happier and filming people who are generally happier.

that sounds like a sweet idea, you should interview regular riders too, not just stars.

and thinking of money to run this who would be good companies to ask for support in any way weather is money, or skis so we can get the best shot :)

that would be an awesome idea. this year im making a big ski video on the east coast with my friends too.

theres a natural mystic flowing through the air if you listen carefully now you will hear. its the first trumpet calling. might as well be the last. many more will have to suffer many more will have to die dont ask me why. things are not the way they used to be.
 
that sounds hardcore, I think you should accept films from people from all over, make a collection of underground ski stars and make a huge movie, I kno I'd buy it..

to make a video mag that would get everyones attention, you would need to have spot checks on all different locals, not just east coast. east, midwest, rockies, west, and bc, with rider bios and different resort seggys as well. volume is okay, but not good enough, look at skateboardings 411, and the snowboarding version as well, those are a good start, also check the rolling one called videogroove, if you follow these formats you will do good.

Sounds like a good idea... you would definitelly need a bunch of contributing filmers for that to work well. The thing is, I'm sure there are enough people with enough talent who would do it just to be a part of it that would submit... it's definitelly a sweet idea that would take a LOT of dedication and a lot of coordinating between cinematographers.

You should talk to cko, cam, and skibumproductions for eastern Canada stuff.

I say go with skiers and boarders, cos not only will you have a wider spectrum to sell to most skiers (or me anyways) love watching snowboarders huck, and I know quite a few snowboarders that like skiing as well...

Could be good, Featuring resorts would be cool, like local riders, terrain layout... Etc. Also you could have people send you footage and you could use what you want. I'll be filming Stowe and Smuggs alot and southern resorts. Yeah it would be sick to have one video that recaped all the east coast comps.

sounsd like a good idea...don't go nationwide yet though, i'd say start out small and east coast that would be a much easier start. buncha kids outta connecticut would contribute footage as well...

Ya, it's a good idea, but make sure you put the effort into it to make it decent. Alot of people say there going to make a vid and then, to be honest, it really sucks.

If your going ta do it make sure ya get it right the first time, cause if your first release blows no ones going to consider buying from you again, If you first release kills though, people will expect the same and better in the future and you'll probably sell alot. Anyway. Later.

well get all your sections you wanna do ahead of time, get your names down, and make restrictions, like everyone needs to send you footage on mini dv cassette, taht is how skateboard canada does it i think, you can send your footage on mini dv, then wonce your doen with it just send them the tape back or something, or keep it, your choice, and get some good names for the segements and havea like a structure to it if you want a video magazine

i might be able to edit you a section of jay peak, alta, mt snow, pats peak, and other east coast mts. nost of my footy is in minidv format. and if your looking for a spponsor,theres a new company called segment that came out, theyll have hoodies and hats this fall, they might be able to help. sounds like a sck idea. keep it up

That sounds like a sick idea. You should definitly talk to Segment bout it. There site is www.segmentclothing.com. I think that it should be liek 10-15$ and should have 2 a year. It should just be skiing. Snowboarders already have alot of movies and it would be more of a hassle. You should make sections for each mtn. and show the talent from the major east coast mtns. People could send in footage from their mtns and then you could use the best footage from each and youd have a sick video.

Newfoundland is the Place to Go. If You Want to Hook Up With a Fine Ass Ho. Stowe is the Place to Be. If You Truly Mofoin Love To Ski.
