East coast steeze v. West coast steeze

hahahha, west coast has nothing on east coast rail wise, there are probably 20 kids under 18 as good as sammy and collin on rails on the east coast

People on the west coast actually have big mountains to ski, and also have more snow to build bigger and better jumps.

so because the EC has less jumps or kids make do with rails and get really good.

dude, fuck that. The mountain i am riding at influences the way I ride 100%, doesnt matter which one it is. I live out west, so fuck yea I would rather hit powder or steeps/trees/groomers/floaters/jibs everywhere on the run than spend time on rails. Each mountain has different terrain and different types of snow. People evolve around their home mountain. Alot of people out west dont ride park as much and ride the whole mountain and hit natural jibs or build something off a natural hit. At least thats the way it is with me, I def take some runs through park though too. I definately see a difference that east coast kids focus on rails for obvious reasons and its sick to progress further that way for sure.

I also forgot that JP Auclair, JF Cusson, Vincent Dorion, and the rest of the new canadian air force were from the west...

Pretty funny that kids are telling ME "how it is" on the east coast and the west coast, clowns. You ski how you ski regardless, the people you ski with might influence the type of riding or tricks you do but where your from has NOTHING to do with how far you dangle your arms or how much you bend your knees, and if it you think it does you need to think for yourself a little bit more.

no, it doesnt, but REGARDLESS, there is a difference overall in style from west coast skiers and east coast skiers.

Wrong foward was one of the most ahead of its time movies ive ever seen go back and check some of the rails they slide in it. Shits crazy. Also if you think that a where you live determinds the kind of style you have your a god damn retard.

That difference is all the kids on the east coast are just that... KIDS, the good ones all move out here and eventually learn how to actually ski.

i know i already stated my opnion on the topic...but uuuh, generally, doesn't everyone have their own style, to some extent?

...but i'd say the only place that has it's own style is the midwest, and that style is HAG! i mean just look at Rich Fahey! he's like the posterboy of the midwest and look how haggard his steeze is!

hahahaha, psyche...seriously though, i've read so much stupid shit in the few responses i've read, the only person who's said anything that didn't make me want to bash my head against the wall is MALONE.

colin wright is sick but tell me how hes one of the best on the west coast, thats rediculous. Not to mention that there are deffinately more redic. rail skiers from east then the west.

oh and even tho it doesnt matter......

"Let's show these fools how we do this on that west side

Cause you and I know it's tha best side"

well I was born in Boston but I have lived in Utah since I was 4. But I fit your east coast description far more than your west coast one. I think the east still lives within me.

wtf? go castrate yourself you bitch. eastcoasters are tougher cause they have to put up with ice landings and ice pipes ALL THE TIME

yeah, and if it wasn't for the east coast (bousquet in pittsfield, ma) then nobody would have night skiing.

that's right

Theres no definite style difference between east and west, like everyone said everyone has their own style. But the difference is in the snow, and anyone who denies that is either crazy or you have never tried to hit tricks on ice. I think some of the west guys don't really know how good they really have it.

actually griffin cummings and eric pollard were puttin tips on the back of their skis to ride backwards before anyone else, arounf the time line first started making ski boards

wait.... east coast has style... oh shit.. no one told me that shit........

im pretty sure it starts west and rolls on through....

i dont know if east vs west really applies.. its kind of more like people from shitty small mountains ski a certain way, people from big AK mountains ski another. everyone just uses what they have.

yo it didnt even start their. have you ever heard of JF cusson, he was one of the first and he is from the east coast. JP auclair, east coast. Now in the east their is kids like vanular, houle, and godbout that are coming up and own all the old pros like tanner amd pep

yes everyone has there own style, BUT you can tell if someone learned to ski in the east or in the west. there is difference although small changes do dictate everyones personal style. but lok around the east, alot of kids do ski rails the same but different than westerners. haha kill the infidels!!

hahahahahahaha every one knows that the west is where it is at. If you dont live here you might as well not exist. WE HAVE POW, and amazing urban...duh!!!

the godfathers/people who actually started freeskiing...Moseley, Glenn Plake, McGonkey(sp)? I mean, I guess you east coast thugs could argue they are over the hill and suck, but they did only start freeskiing. the roots point back to these people along with others

i dont think there is much of a difference at all we all have relatively the same parks only thing might be some style thats about it the only true differenct right now is the east coast has no snow...haha
