East coast steeze v. West coast steeze

There is a significant difference. you have to admit. Al Lanning skis way differently than Travis Heed. East guys have like a standup, arms down style, when the guys on the west move more, bend their knees on alot of tricks and do presses more than switch ups.

I have just noticed this and i am just asking if anyone else has noticed it.

Oh dude for sure, biggg difference. Basically EC = more rail influence WC/west = more jump influenced.

no way man West Coast kills east coast on rails we got Sammy C and Collin. We all about rails over on this side...

no one said that man why do you have to make it into a contest? E heath was just saying theres a lot more rail influence on the east coast becaus the east coast is a lot more park skiing and west coast is more jump influenced cuz they have a the snow and BC to make better jumps...

what if i live in the west and try to emulate (copy for you dumbshits) the east coast style in the west?

would i be influencing or influenced? i mean to say, would it be better to leave them apart or bring them together?

personally i like the diversity.

For one... calling it the "West Coast" is SOOOO innaccurate. Colorado is so far from the coast it's not even funny. And if you want an older level one movie... like Forward, it's pretty much all east coast people. Lately they've been shredding with a lot of CO people, but whatever. West coast would be Mammoth, Tahoe, Hood, and a few others. If you say the WEST (minus the coast) you'll include SLC, CO, all those places. And yes, there is a huge difference in style. I shred with mostly East Coast people, but in Salt Lake City, and the style differences are noticeable.

Yes. for the clarity of the thread, it does. Calling out only two coasts leaves out a huge number of people.

Other than that, i don't give a shit.

haha. high five was the first one that was actually good. when they changed from east coast to CO skiers. someone above said, name skiers that are famous and not from the east coast. that was the most retarded comment i have ever heard. lets pretend like you didnt say that.

haha east coast would own

just listen to the audio of the landings CRAAAAAAACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

that cab 5 suddenly becomes a lot harder when your landing on cement

a park is a park, no matter where it is. i dont see how living on a certain coast would make you develop a unique style. people everywhere have different styles.

People don't determine the steeze of the east coast or west coast. Snow conditions and terrain determine the steeze of the people. They are what they are because of the weather and terrain.

after my trip out east last year i definatly have a lot of respect for you east kids throwing down on the ice.

Sammy Carlson, Andy Mahre, Eric Pollard and a ton of others. DOn't forget everyone outta Utah.

i like it here on the east we got a lot of rail/ urban steeze cuz we got dope cities like NYC ect. but west has super powder so they have a lot of big mtn, big jumps big everything influence im on da east coast representin

its harder to learn new tricks on east coast because the landings are generally harder most of the time, except when its 50 degrees and the snow is super soft

YOu guys don't know who all STARTED in the east. A lot of people out west started in the East i'm sure. Think of just the Academy kids. Crichton, Boyd, Rainville, Marion.... Then theirs people like Sean Decker, Liam.... so many people. And a lot are originally from the Midwest, which is way shittier than the East.

Exactly. I also forgot that, and forgot that Collin is the god of rails...........not. Kids on the east slay rails.. Not saying people on the west don't, but think of the conditions on the east. It's always rock hard, so when jumps suck, rails are the thing.

This thread is really not good, but seriosuly you guys. West kills. Tanner, Sam C, Pollard, Pep.... freestyle skiing started in the west, dont deny that. Pollard was one of the first along with tommy ellingson, griffin cummings, and seth warner. For you all thinking your way better cause its icy on the east, that means nothing. West can be just as icy... just look at all of cali right now. If there was a contest between east and west, west would prolly take more than five out of the top ten places. period.
