East Coast Snow

there should be no hating between the west coast adn teh east coast. skiing is skiing no matter what side of the country you live on.

yea its awesome we got all this snow...but remember man, out west its not a rare happening...

99% of the time this thread title would be an oxymoron. Enjoy the snow though, it's been soooooo long since I've skied good powder, I'm getting a bit envious.

"yeah fuck all you west coasters what now bitches"

The Cascades got 300" in January alone. If anyone's fucked, it's us with our pathetic 12" base of manmade ice.

fuck i live too far north, im 60 miles north of nyc and i got only 8 or 9 inches, if i lives 20 miles farther southeast id have 20+ inches

we got about 2 feet of nice, light, fluffy snow down here in south easten Mass......right where there is NO WHERE to go skiing. (blue hills doesnt count)

Wow, you got 18-27 inches, you now have lived up to 1/10 of what the west cost gets. I think ive seen 3 dumps that size already this year, and like 5 others that are a foot. Stop thinking you are so cool cause you got two feet of snow. Two feet is cool, but its not THAT much. You will get one weekend, maybe one day of good skiing from that snow, congradulations.

so the east cant own the west, so shut up. and yea on the east coast we got 2 feet of snow where it is not needed and will be put to no use, ie nyc and boston...

and after reading that^ i think this thread should be deleted to save me from killing myself again

its actually kind of funny and questionably ironic the whole snow situation

east coast has worse snow, smaller mountains, more overcrowding, and ultimately less appealing ski terrain.

however, when i went out west,(not just once, i spent a lot of time out there for the haters) the quality of the average skiier/snowboarder was far less than that of the east coast. we have per capita way more solid skiiers and snowboarders.

Where'd you ski? This is definitely not true for anyplace with dedicated locals, like Crystal, Baker, Alpental, Whistler, Snobird, Jackson, A-Basin, etc.

The only place that this might be true is in the park, because the East has absolutely nothing else to offer in terms of terrain - but park skills alone hardly make you a solid all-around skier.

fuck all you west coasters, east coast skiing is so much harder then west coast, although you have amplitude we have a little thing called ice... you guys would cry at first sight. so yeah dont bust on east coast skiing

We got like 2 feet here. I spent most of the day bombing the powder in the woods behind by buddy's house. It was fantasmical.
