EAST COAST SKIING THANKSGIVING

Last year Loon, Sunday River, Killington and a few others (Stowe? Stratton? Mount Snow?) were open by the third week of November with more than just one trail... But this year we will be lucky if the two big ones (Killington and SR) are able to open with anything decent :(

Seven springs had a killer opening setup on Black Friday last year. Don't think it will be the same this year though. Predicting that they will most likely open a few days after Thanksgiving.

Plan on hitting Stratton the day after Thanksgiving assuming its open. Probably won't go though if its just like 1 trail and 2 rails. Last years opening weekend was great...we had 5-6 inches of fresh snow.

Unless the weather changes, my guess will be Killington, Sunday River and Stowe. Hopefully with top to bottom by then.

The way the extended forecast looks I wouldn't get your hopes up. Maybe top of killington with their goofy walk to ski thing.

Still no major pattern change in the 10-14 day outlook.

I know they were blowing most of yesterday. Hopefully they can extend that to the bottom soon. The temps for Killington the town look to be below freezing at night all next week, so they should be able to get those guns going and give us something decent. Buuttttttt temps are just one factor in snowmaking.

Killington as of right now! Yesterday that whole run was green!!!!!

thanks for sharing! the demos look a little warm over the next 2-3 days, but then its supposed to dip into colder temps. if they have 1-2 weeks of good temps, might actually be worth checking out late november!!

A lot of mountains are so post to be opening next weekend (wachusett, sugarbush, etc) but the temps are still looking a little warm. If we have about 3 nights in a row when it's around 20 degrees expect for some opening mountains!
