East coast skiers way better at rails

Now before the hate train starts rolling in let me explain myself. I'm sure you could say the same thing for the west and jumps but if you look at the best rail slayers today 9 out of 10 of them are from the east. Obviously there are exceptions but still.

Is it only because the first half of our season consists of only rails and small jumps if we're lucky?
 
and because everything turns to ice. would you rather fall off a rail to ice or a 40ft jump to ice?
 
No hate at all ik exactly what your saying lj, andy, will, tom, ahmet they are all from the east. Lots of less known rail experts too who are from the east who just cant hit a jump for their life so not too many people know about them.
 
dont forget about the midwest coast. not crankin out big names really like the east but still we're in the same kinda position as far as conditions go.
 
so because east coasters are better at rails and probably have the most popular man in the industry (Wallisch) we are pussys? rigghhhhttttt
 
I understand where youre coming from. We have a similar season in the midwest, but the trend is catching on, and the east coast wont dominate for long
 
its simple

we just dont have the snow to make sweet jumps that dont turn to ice...

and we dont have the pow option

and the big mountain option

but we got the style down to a science

 
one thing ive noticed is that we have better rails in the east. i still prefer the jibs at MSLM than the ones in whister.
 
I'm from the east and I always ski rails.. cause my home mountain had no jump and only the half of the snowpark is setted.. the upper section is on the grass right now... that sucks.
 
what usually ends up happening it seems is that a kid who grows up on the east coast is nasty a rails, then depending on how dedicated they are at skiing the move to summit country or out west and get their jump game up to par, then just dominate the industry
 
so what your saying is that rails are for pussys? thats how i translated that. and not many ppl can control where they live when they are 18
 
also has to do with having things like rop tows in the parks, makes taking laps a lot faster, especially if the park is open late, I live in CO and am always jealous of edits with night parks, we have keystone which is sick but the more the better.
 
I went back east to visit my g-parents in NH over christmas break. I skied loon and sunday river a couple days and no one really impressed me, even on the rails that you guys rep. So any of you kids from back there need make the trip to Mammoth and get put in you place. BTW, those ski the east stickers piss me off (Unless your sponsored by them its just a gaper badge)

if you ahve skied the east for two seasons, you can say whatever yowu ant, but i doubt the people hating on teh east coast have skied 50 foot step downs to flat ice landings

It's all about what is available to skiers. We don't have 60+ booters into 5 feet of powder on EC.

I seriously think if you took a handful of EC park rats (like myself) and forced them to ski only Big Mtn lines in waist pow and huge kickers for a week, 90% wouldn't want to go back to rails.

im west coast and i love rails/boxes.

i dont really like normal skiing. like just turning down hills. unless it is a powder day
 
LOL You guys have Wallisch? That prob fair since we have morrison, sage, tanner,bushfield, ANT, Dana Flahr, Ian Macintosh, Dumont, T Rice, Jeremy Jones, Pollard, McKonkey, Abma it keeps going.

Our sport was formed by the west boys. Why because its that much more kickass.

hehe kid..... You said they start on the east coast then come destroy the west coast. Which sadly then do not. I am just showing how worthless your community has been to the sport as a whole. Dont worry one day you will grow up and be able to move.
