East Coast Report

I'd never been there before, but I didn't love it. Kind of a weird vibe, lot of families and racers. Usually don't think twice about wearing my park gear to any mountain but deff caught some weird looks in the lodge. Anybody else ever been to Okemo and experienced this?

I definitely know where you're coming from. Didn't seem like there was much of a park skiing community there at all besides some younger kids that likely lived there.

When I was younger Okemo had some of the most legit features and riders that I had seen at the time.

I have a ton of homies there that kill it but alot of them ski midweek so the crowd that you saw might not normally see them? not sure really but the vacationers that go to okemo are odd. Its my favorite mountain and yea its a weird vibe but I love it

Bummer to hear this. Years ago I skied Okemo a lot, back when Nor' Easter was a top to bottom park. The scene there was dope back then! Features were huge, there were a ton of talented skiers and boarders, Nor' Easter was the tits (steep af, top to bottom, loaded with features). It sucks to hear that's not the case anymore. GTs at Brokemo.

Yeah I mean all the features and stuff they had set up were pretty nice, especially for the early-season and I for sure saw a few kids ripping, I just felt really weird the whole time. Seemed like everywhere I turned there was someone in an Okemo jacket or Ski patrol waiting for me to do something they could get me in trouble for. There were only like 11 trails open but from what I could tell the layout and terrain of the other trails looks really sick. I'll probably head up there at least one more time this year when it's 100%. Everything's worth a second shot. Plus the Long Trail Brewery is like 10 minutes away....

I know a couple of the ski patrol and they are chill. I have dipped ropes and come out at the end of the closed trails right next to them, and they just asked how the run was. I feel like you might just be interpreting what you see in a bad way or I am just insanely lucky and haven't had a bad experience from the Okemo employees.

Yeah for sure. I didn't actually interact with any of them so I'm sure they're chill guys. It was more so the people in the blue jackets and the people in the lodge. Maybe they were all just admiring my tall t steeze haha (lol deff not tho)

Snow Trails has been open all week and the conditions have been great! Considering the conditions of the east coast. Also Snow Trails also has three new rails a flat rail, z rail ( was set up when I was there) and an up down rail (not set up yet) that are all like 10" fat round rails, so dope. Had a great time carving the small vert there, always got great vibes too so if your in Ohio check them out.

Killington is really solid. I ducked into the big dipper glades last weekend and they had good coverage, I even found some nice pow. Superstar is going to be skiing until July with all the snow on it from the world cup. Shame that lift tickets are already $105 with half the mountain open. Jay Peak is reporting 100" already which is fucking insane. Its not on my max pass but I'll have to get up there at some point.
