Alpine Shop and Sugarbush are teaming up again to bring the first rail jams of the season to the Burlington area. The first event will be Saturday, September 22nd starting at 11am. The setup (for those of you who attended last year's events) will be better yet again (thanks, Super Parx!!!), with a full stair case up the truck, better down ramp and newer features!

The rail jam on the 22nd will be free and open to anyone. We will be watching and judging, and 50 qualifiers (ski and snowboard) will be selected to return for a second event on October 27th to battle it out for skis, boots, snowboards and other sick prizes.

As always, we'll be tossing lots of free stuff into the crowd, so show up and bring your crew whether you intend to ride the rails or not.

Call the Alpine Shop in South Burlington, VT at (802) 862-2714 for more details or visit our new website at www.alpineshopvt.com

The fall rail jam series is brought to you by Alpine Shop, Sugarbush, Smith Optics, Nordica, K2, Burton, Anon, Giro and more of your favorite brands....

i was there last year, it rained soooo fuckin hard so i peaced out. the setup was meh also. but hey its still a jam so ill probably be there.

sick! That'll be a great weekend in Burlington as that Thursday before is the Yeah Dude! Premiere at UVM!

my friends and i are thinking about drivig 4 hours to go. what do you mean by full staircase up the truck? could you explain the setup?

I will hopefully go. I'll have to see if i can get a ride... Anyone giong through plattsburgh?

o man im so there. but i doubt the setup will be that good. im gonan rate it abotu as good as someones backyard setup. probaly nothing to drive 4 hours for. unless ur really bored then come on over cuz the more skiers the better!

Some one Pick up Tim from GMC. Its like hour and 20 min from killy and any rail jam is worth going to.

i guess i'll go. I haven't hit a rail since april but what the fuck. 4 hour drive. its free. i'm down.

So someone should pick me up in Plattsbugh, I will sing great travel songs like such classics as: 99 bottles of beers on the wall

cumbiah

And my all time favriot the wheels on the bus!!

But seriously someone should hit me up with a ride

it's thursday night in the UVM theater at 7. There's a pre premiere autograph session at Magic Hat around 5 and the after party is at Nectars!

Sorry for the long radio silence.....Been moving to a new place.

The setup will be a much more "professional" version of the second event setup last year. We will still be dropping in off the truck, but they have replaced the sketchy ladder to the top of the truck with a full staircase with a hand rail and improved the transition to the feature.

Last year the big feature was a double barrel rail that you dropped into off of the truck. This year, the double barrel rail is gone and replaced by a lexan topped rail built by SuperParx for Sugie's park last year. There will be two more smaller features, also by SuperParx, accessed by dropping in down a ramp from a set of scaffolding, most likely a flat box and a small rail.

This first event is free and open to all, we will be throwing schwag into the crowd and giving out prizes for stuff like most retro set-up and outfit, carnage consolation prizes, etc...(no that does not mean you should try and biff it to win something), but the big deal will be the 25 skiers and 25 snowboarders who qualify at this event to come back for a final comp on October 27th that will be invitation only with prizes like Nordica boots, K2 skis, Obermeyer clothing, etc....

This will be a big event...it starts at 11am, registration starts at 10am.

IMPORTANT: TO ALL OF YOU WHO COMPLAINED LAST YEAR ABOUT THE HELMET RULE, HERE IS YOUR NOTICE. HELMETS ARE REQUIRED TO RIDE THE RAILS. ALSO, IF YOU ARE UNDER 18, YOU NEED A PARENT TO SIGN YOUR LIABILITY RELEASE.

I will try to get a copy of the release up on our website for you to download in advance if your parents cannot attend with you, but no guarantee on that....

Call 802-862-2714 if you have additional questions.

so stoked. i'm coming up next friday and staying at uvm for the weekend. Can't wait to see it. Do you have any pictures of this truck drop in? it sounds out of this world sketch.

i'm scared, the people in elementary school told me that i shouldn't let strangers in my car.

I'll check with Sugarbush to see if they have photos of the new truck setup, otherwise, you'll see it on Saturday....
