East Coast POW skis.

go bigggg dawg and fuck big troubles...
so whats mostly east cost pow? trees. and trees you want something kinda nimble and turny for tight trees and shit, where most of teh pow is found. my way of seeing it was that i already had a park ski, so i wanted to just go big and get something fatter than a in-between, 95-105 waisted ski. problem is, many of those skis (like the big trouble) are made with huge turning radius's and aren;t ideal for throwing around in tight trees and such.
the answer is get somethign with gnarly rocker. i got surface one lifes from last year on evo for $350, mounted them -1 from center and i love them. the tail rocker makes them easy to slash around and check speed in trees, and the tip rocker makes them shred da pow. i also have fun dickign around in the park with them. i've felt comfortable throwing some spins on like 20 foot jumps, but other than that i can't tell u much about their larger jump performance. but dude, theres a 90% chance u already have a prk ski, so who cares if they can shred 60 ft park jumps...you won't be hitting those on a pow day.

oh also, the whole "omg im from the east coast so i need to hold an edge on ice with my pow skis" bullshit....if its a pow ski, ur not gonna be skiing ice with it. and if you're an expert skier, the like 200 ft of skied-off groomer to get back to the lift won't be a problem for you. the one lifes are a little sketchy on hardpack for the first like 3 runs, but then you get used to it. it almost makes the groomers more fun because its more of a challenge. i'm sure they're actually better on ice than many similar skis because tehy're stiff as tits. its hard to even carve the cambered section if you're going under like 20 mph..thats how stiff they are underfoot.
