skied Wildcat Friday. SO unbelievably epic. They've got nothing but snow from these storms. Holy shit, ski days like this don't come to often here. Fuck I really want to make the drive today again.
The way and the tone of the kid when he said it just made me laugh. And it's mainly avy conditions and area boundaries that make "backcountry" skiing. When I picture NY and most parts of the east coast (minus some places at stowe and others) I do not picture backcountry skiing. Technically though, I guess you could call it that for self satisfaction/amusement.
was just at mt snow this week end and they got something like a 35in of pow which made it very nice to go into the woods i also found a 13 wall that i dropped. thats something you dont get to do around here often
so much fun to have snow like this in the NY/VT area i hit some urban got some powder and mt snow had a shit ton of snow...also a +++ mountains will be open longer hopefully with this to add to the base
skied wildcat sat and sun over 4ft of snow from the storm and 0 rain. got lost in the "backcountry" of wildcat aka Thompson's Brook for over 4 hours. started out alone at around noon, made a wrong turn and was along for 2 hours. them found 3 skiers who were also lost and then realized that 4 other people where following my track. we weren't as much lost as we were "this is going to take a long time to get out of." ended up getting out at around 4:45 with a total of 11 people and bumping into ski patrol who were looking for 5 of us while we where walking back through the parking lot. Epic weekend of deep snow though
