GLOBAL WARMING IS TAKING OVER!!!! I checked the 15 day forecast and everyday the high is in the 40s and the 50s rain no snow. Every time I check that forecast its just sending me into sadness We need cold..... STOP global warming

Its still fall. Give it some time and be patient, some of us dont even get snow mid winter :)

Bro, it isn't global warming. The North america snow cover is 15% above average right now. It is just a positive NAO. Just wait till the mid month and on and it will flip and winter will start coming

Midwest is the same. I'm giving it until December 20th to get below freezing or I'm going to sell my gear and take up figure skating.

Ehh that was something we could say 2 weeks ago, we are in December we should all be skiing by now

It's not global warming. Last 2 years were just better then the average years and this year is worse then average. It's all cycles.

My mountain is about 2 weeks overdue. Long term looks pretty bad too. It's already a repeat of 2011-2012

I talked to a seven springs groomer and snowmaker and they said it will be until late december before they can make more snow.

Not trying to start a big climate change debate. Its just weather. Last two years in the MW it was cold and snowy. 3 years ago it was mild, this year will probably be mild. The change in the jet stream is stopping big cold air masses from getting down to the east coast, and midwest. Doesn't mean there wont be some days of cold and snow. It seems all the cold is held up out west.

Don't remind me. But if you turn your memory back one more winter from that. There was a 48" storm. Which was epic.

I believe it was the 09-10 season that brought the huge snowfall. But 10-11 was pretty good too.

East Coast last year it didn't snow that much until mid January. And we ended up having the snowiest winter on record.

Forgot to mention I was talking about Chicago. I feel like the East and MW have similar winters though.

Big Boulder was open but I couldn't make it. Looks like I won't be skiing until late December because theres no way my home mountain is going to be open by the 9th like they were predicting.

Hey look at last year, not much snow at all until January then it started dumping record snowfalls left and right. We're not the west coast don't get your hopes up.

It was raining all day here in upstate NY today. There's a desperate need for snow here on the east coast.

Would all you mofos quit bitching, it will get cold. The AMO will turn negative halfway through month which will deliver cold air to east and is going to stay that way all winter so NO THAW.

And Global warming my ass. The current snow cover is sooooo above average right now. 797818.png

They place I ski traditionally opens on thanksgiving but can't upon until late December this year. Really sucks

my home mountain is supposed to open on december 5th . Its currently 55 degrees and raining and its december 2nd . ITs definitely global warming by this time it would at least be cold. Im not gonna work at my home mountain this winter because there not gonna have a good year i can tell I'm sad :'(

Do you guys understand el niño? It was predicted to be a super warm winter. Also there is no global warming. Do you know how many record cold temps were set last year???

People like you are simply too demanding to stay on the EC. Just go move to Boulder already and spare us all your "expertise".

You could have been skiing for weeks and weeks if you were ready and willing.

yeah I'm in PA and it's been raining and in the 40's/50's recently. Hopefully some cold weather is somewhat soon so resorts can start blowing. I also saw Mt Tremblant in Canada is struggling for some good conditions as well

I'm not from the east coast, but the Midwest is having the same conditions...

We are normally skiing by Thanks giving, I guess I was not aware that this weather was typical for you guys...

On average we get our first snowfall November 8th. We still don't have any natural snow and as of December 3rd we will break a record from back in 1889. Sooooo yes. This winter is shittier/warmer than normal, at least here.

Nah, we've had some killer years recently. I mean yeah it's been up and down but Killington actually beat Colorado to open this year.

Yea, but wouldn't you say this ear is much warmer than normal?

Well it definitely is for the Midwest... We have gotten a lot of snow, definitely a above average amount, but it gets melted by the next day...

Not cold now, people want to ski. Cold in March/April with plenty of snow and people want to do other things and ski resort close down because lack of interest/no money coming in. Good ol eastcoast

Yup, NH is just awful right now. My mountain was supposed to open Dec. 5th and they most likely wont be because its gonna be to warm to blow snow most of this week even at night...So Im skiing mt snow once a weekend until they open. I was skiing there this time last year (I think)

It was colder in late october and I wore a track coat and shorts to school today.

He knows the deal in NH

All of you seem to be saying that we'll still get a lot of snow this year, and I agree, but that's only because we haven't reached the tipping point yet.

2015 has been the hottest year on record. If that's not enough to prove global warming is a thing, I don't know what is. Soon the weather will be really fucked up because we, like the little human shits we are, were in denial for too long. We need to act now, regardless of whether or not it's affecting the amount of snow yet.

PS watch cowspiracy.

Fuck this. I am going to start learning how to mountain bike or something. Long term forecasts are not reliable but not even fucking once does it go below freezing. Fuck off ontario suck a fucking dick.

Yup, I don't know how northern NH is like but down here in southern NH its awful. It shouldn't be like this, if were not getting snow it should at least be cold enough to make it.

Oh yeah, we're definitely having a warm spell. Definitely no need to panic tho. It will come, and when it does it will come big. Just spend this time getting ready! Wall sits, ski waxing, gear dialing, all that... Just stay calm. It will happen. Nothing you can do to change it though no matter how hard you stress about it.

Complaining doesn't get very far if you don't plan on doing anything about fixing it ( global warming) as much as it fucking sucks, I'm passing up skiing on the one open trail my mountain has this weekend to make some money and get my girlfriend some ski boots ( never passed up skiing for anything before so this is a big deal to me) because sitting around complaining about the lack of snow just makes me sad.

Also for the people complaining about the global warming issue, check out the new initiative led by bill gates, Obama, and host of the most powerful people in the world to fund an internationally recognized push for more clean energy. TED talks has something about it I think but I just saw it on Monday and I think the formation of this thing was released on the 27th. Changes are coming in a big way and I'm hyped to know that this means snow may still be around 50 years from now when I'm gonna be an "old school" thugged out ski bum

Don't really think you under stand the idea of global warming it's a warming up over time (emphasis on over time) it won't just change in one year haha for me,this was one of the most mild Summer's I've had as far as temps go

That is a great way to think, and that will definitely help me, so thank you!
