Im a kid from Ottawa, thats moving to your boys neibourhood, and i need some advice on wich ski hill is the best, and a town or ski hill with good job oportunities. So far im looking at Red Mt, Whitewater or the Silver star, Big white package.

any advice?

Go to Golden, Fernie, Revelstoke, Rossland or Nelson. I wouldn't recomened Silver Star, Big White or Sun Peaks. PM me if you want some good info. on Rossland.

 
Ya Nelson is a 'dope' town, and i skied whitewater before and can see my self there for a bit. Im from the east so all i do is jib, and am ready for a change. So no Silver or BIG, thats cool, im more into small hardcore places anyways.

Ya I'm not telling you NOT to go there but I figure that they are more focased on development then the locals. If you live in Nelson witch is really sick Red is only an hour and a bit away so you have 2 great mountians.

 
Silver Star/Bigwhite has just announced at 127.9 million dollar expansion. It will include a new big terrain park, new super pipe and new pipe with just 12 foot walls. 2 new chairlifts accessing the cliff area, and like 10 new runs or something. Also they are getting tons of new rails and big table tops for next year. they are getting a bunch of new groomers for next year too. Silver star has ordered a bunch of new rails for next year as well. the good thing is you get all this on one seasons pass.

 
I would much rather do some real big mountian powwwderrr skiing then rails. But that sounds like a sick deal if your fully into park but if your not, red is where it's at.

 
yea, i'll agree with that red mtn. is some pretty sick big mountain stuff. im gonna have to get out there to ride more next year.

Im going to BC for the Backcountry and mountain skiing. Is the interior good for sled accesability, without using corparations(companys)?

Silver & BIG is the same ownership, so if I worked for the 'A' mountain I would get a pass for both hills ?

That sounds sick what they have in mined.

Red is sick, and I know the skiing is also, But it sounds like they have a need for some park. Do the have a park staff or somthing like that.

ya if you worked for silver star you would have a pass for both mountains, and vise versa. also there is some sick sledding areas in bc, areas like owls head, hunters range and blue lake...i would upload some vid of some crazy shit we have ridden up there this year and sweet booters too, but they are too big and never work.

 
I don't think they NEED a park because there natural terrain makes up for it. They got 6 rails this year and from what I hear they are going to have a few tables and some new rails for next season. They are planning on doing this beside the T-Bar.

 
I'm from Ottawa too. I'm living in Fernie. I'm taking the outdoor adventure course at College of the Rockies. I haven't skied here yet, but I already love it. The parties have started this weekend cuz its the job fair tomorrow

 
I think red is finished all there hiring im going to big white it going to be wicked you got to act soon because most places are finishing up there hiring
