so yeah this is happening at okemo, and im thinking of entering for skierX, but i dunno how to qualify or enter for the event, how can i?

I think its really stupid that there is an east coast freeskiing open. isnt that what the Vermont open is for? yes. whats even stupider is that the ECFSO qualifies you for next years USFO. why do you need to qualify for the us freeskiing OPEN?

i think it rocks. we are always looking for higher caliber comps on the east. now we have the VT Open PLUS the East Coast Freeskiing Open. it will make Vail a little less hectic come US Open time as well.

East Coast Freeskiing Open

Okemo will be hosting the inaugural East Coast Freeskiing Open! Featuring Superpipe, Quarterpipe, and Skiercross competitions, this marquee affair will be the first of its kind in the Northeast. The event will include a prize purse of roughly $25,000 and will automatically qualify top finishers for the 2005 U.S. Freeskiing Open in Vail, Colorado.

Dates: March 12 - 14

wrong! It is quite similar to the VT open. I dont see why they are trying to claim something new when it has already been done.

Im sure it will be a cool event and all,but its not neseasry. why have two of te same event?

there are many reasons for more then one of the same kind of event, more money for the riders, more exposure for the host resort, yet another qualifyer for the US open, and more fun, and we all know skiing is about fun

krongos, i don't think you need to qualify for it, hence the open...and there will probably be an online sign up type of thing

i think you should keep checkin the okemo site, or freeze to sign up i guess

i think its dumb, it qualifies you for the 2005 open but it lacks BIG AIR and SLOPESTYLE which are 2 main events at the usfo, and the ECFO wont have. plus.. there is no QP Event at the USFO

unbelivable....... people complaining about a new large scale comp on the eastcoast. haha, more prize money, more exposer, a chance to be in the us open FINALS, people complaining......not permitted, stop now

I still think its dumb to have 2 of the same comp, and not including slopestyle at that, but it is good to have more comps.

i afree with stu, it needs slopestyle and big air to make it actually look like it belongs with the usfo.. im not saying we cant use the exposure but its not a smart move to keep out one iof the original disciplines as well as the one thats catching on like california wildfire.. im talking about slopestyle.. they NEED these 2 ingrediants to have a solid competition and take out QP.. from what ive seen of okemos 1/4's im not to thrilled about it.

i really cant find anything bad baout it coming to the east? we need this more than you can believe, freeze , freeskie, ski , allthose magazines will most likely be there, and you' guys will be able to strut your stuff like never before, i think its a Godsend
