it was pretty decent coverage. basically same clips as in my highlight reel, only much better quality.

vt open not as good as this. quarter pipe competition was amazing. Crighton doing switch 1080, switch 900, and wilson doing the flare to front flip over 20 ft out.

 
the VT Open was so much better than the East Coast Open. Who are you kidding?

yeah the vt open was off the hook. the talent pool for the ecfso was kinda shallow, liam... ah well next year it should be better.

probably because it sucked so much ass. who has a qp comp instead of slopestyle or big air. thats just gay. and that pipe looked like a pile of turds. or because liam goes to college...maybe he had some work to do?

I didn't blame anything or anyone for the fact that the East Coast Open wasn't as good as the VT Open. However, nothing other than an AMAZING 1/4 pipe and halfpipe event could compare to one of the greatest slopestyle and halfpipe events that has ever happened in the ski industry. I didn't say that the East Coast Open was a bad event, I merely said that the VT Open was a better one. And I saw the footage from the ECFSO, so I am justified in comparing the 2. Are you any less biased than I am as an Okemo local?

it was only the first year of the east coast open. was the vt open the best event ever its first year? + the vt open already has a sick setup left over from the us open. both comps have their strong points

Paul has some really valid points. If the same roster of guys showed for the EC Open as did the VT Open for pipe (granted, JP/Hibbert/Crichton were there, as well as others), then they would be equal in my mind. I thought the quarterpipe was a really good event, which drew a larger crowd then Ive seen at either of the last two VT Opens

True, Okemo does suffer by not having the slopestyle event, but talk to Freeze/Transworld, not Okemo. Transworld puts on the event, and Okemo is the host mtn, so Okemo shouldnt take any heat for that

All in all, i think having both the East Coast Open and the Vermont Open is great. The more the merrier is my opinion. Just hopefully next year transworld irons stuff out alot better for the event

oh, and i do agree that the slopestyle part of the VT OPEN, as well as the pipe, was rediculous. People were going off both days better then Ive seen all year.

no offence to the qp or halfpipe winners (and congradulations) but i think something better than a cork 9 and 2 flairs and a 540 should have won.

Easily both events were the best this year in the east coast and I hope both will be around for a while. soon these events will get bigger and attract more pros, which attract the crowds and the money. no one does it for the money but the sponsers will drop the event if they're not making anything.

the cork 9 won the ec freesking open because crighton fell and screwed up on his switch 9 and switch 1080

 
Also Phillipi did a 270 on to the swing set where as crichton did switch on. Not to sound too redundant but the vermont open was hands down better. The pipe was the best I've seen except maybe x-games.

 
whats it matter which one was better. Its not like they were both held on the same weekends. People should debate wether the ECFSO should be here because we already have the VT open ot that its better....its another big comp to compete in and try to win some money

 
I heard they are doing it early this year. Okemo got some new snow making system. Who else is out for this weekend. Dumont, DC, turpin, its going to be sick.
