Easiest Tricks For a Freestyle Newbie?

So yeah, heading over to a slope this sunday for a few hours of lapping. There are a few rails and a couple of jumps and was just wondering what the most accessible tricks for me to progress through are.

I can already do the simple grabs like safety's so yeah. Thats that I guess.

Can you ski comfortably? Make sure you know the basics, and can ski perfectly fine, before you start trying tricks.

Once you are done with this, then you should try sliding boxes and rails, and just get a feel for it.

Yeah i'd say I can ski comfortably. I've been dicking around on my university race team for the last few months. Not racing, just using it as an excuse for free skiing haha.

learn to ride switch really well, 90 on 90 off on rails, practice popping off jumps correctly, grabs, and maybe some 180s which you can then take to 360s. practice some switch spins as well because you will have a nice flow in the park and on jump lines.

Looks like i'll be spending this weekend practicing switch then haha

i would say you should follow this line of progression

Skiing with good form all over the mountain

180's

skiing switch comfortably over both shoulders, able to carve switch

switch 180's

360's

rail slide

lip slide

blind 2 out

front 2 out

surface swap

This seems like a pretty solid list to work through! Cheers buddy.

some good beginner tricks would probably be 180s both ways, comfortable skiing switch, sliding boxes and rails both ways, possibly 270s out and 360s, most important would be getting comfortable in the park. update the thread with stuff you learn homie, good luck.
