Easiest spins on and off rails?

It's my first year park skiing and I'm finally getting comfy hopping on to bigger and bigger rails, and I think I'm ready to throw some spins onto and off of them. The only problem is I don't know what to throw. I'm thinking blindside 270 off would be worth giving a go. Any suggestions?

Only a 1080? thats weak, atleast try for the 1440 on 2160 out. They're much more swaggalicious. It's what all the pros like big air dave are doing these days.

I learned front 2's off first. They are really easy. Also as for spinning onto it. Try some lipslides first. Then find a nice low rail and try a 270 on.

Actually no. It's easier to fs off even though that's he opposite way you spun on because you never have to lose sight of the landing

Word, anyone got advice for downrails? Yeah, I'm scared of downrails. I'm not sure how to go about getting over it slowly, either.

1. Go a little faster than you think you should

2. Pop. Always pop.

3. When your getting on the rail, think about pointing your down hill shoulder at the end of the rail. This will shift your weight slightly forward so your skis are neutral to the rail and you don't slip backwards.

Thread jacking but anyone have tips for fs 4s? I can do fs 2 without even thinking and have trouble getting the rotation after that. Should i be spinning harder or should i be scissoring more or what? Also does more speed make any difference?

youre probably spotting at front 2, dont even look at the landing until you are coming around for 4, keep your head turned. thats what helped me anyway

I've finally just started rails this last week. I've gotten pretty cozy on boxes and then got decent with down boxes.

Rails scared the shit out of me though for some reason. Best advice I got was my friend told me to just start pretending the edge of the box was actually a rail and focus on keeping balanced over the edge and weight downhill.

Did this a few times. Went to rail... Actually thought it was easier than the box. Went to down rail and pretended I was just hitting the side of down box... Brilliant success!

It's funny, I was so scared for such a silly reason. It seems when I mess up on a rail, I just sort of slide off and if I fall, it's onto the snow. With boxes, I go down and I go down hard on the box.

In regards to the spinning off thing. I'm probably doing it wrong, but I've been trying to get cozy going on unnatural so when I start spinning I can go FS off. Just need to get my arms under control...

This, for me the easiest way to learn them was learning to scissor to turn myself 90 at the end of the rail, and then applied it to the 270. It doesn't take much more effort than getting off normally

OP

Easiest to Most Difficult/Scariest

1. Front 270 Off

2. Blind 270 Off

3. Front 450 Off

4. 270 On

5. Blind 450 Off

6. Front 630+ Off

7. Lip 270 On

8. Blind 630+ Off

9. 450 On

10. Lip 450 On (Probably wear a diaper for this one because you're gonna be shitting your pants.)
