easier?....excuses

do skiers go bigger then boarders? for awhile the boarders would say no way if anything if ANYTHING we are at a tie. well recently with the progression of the sport, they have seen that skiers are just goin off in this past year or two. and now it seems that alot of the boarders as well as others are sayin well the only reason skiers go bigger is because its obviously easier. is this true? who goes bigger....its not that big of deal or what im asking. i guess the real question is like who here thinks that the progression of how big we go is because skiing is easier or is it just progression and upping the level of the sport?

Why don't u just go suck a fuck!.....'Oh really!? Tell me how exactly does one suck a fuck???

Your such a fuck ass! 'Did you just call me a fuck ass?! lol' *little girl comes in and says* Whats a fuck ass?

i dont think any boarder has dropped a 220 foot cliff, though i may be wrong

Neither are easier...that is just bullshit trash talk that 12 year olds spit in the lift lines. Skiers can go faster just because they face downhill and can tuck, that's why skiers hold the speed record and boarders are a good 50mph behind.

But a sport is as hard as one makes it. I was told three years ago by a boarder that he quit skiing because he could do 360s in his first year...When I asked him why he didn't try for bigger spins he just walked away.

Boarders are better at rails because they can spin on them without worrying about nutting and skiers are better in the air because they can boost higher out of the pipe and off bigger jumps...it's that simple.

learning curve for snowboarding is definetly quicker which causes the misconception its easier...i know so many kids that got wicked good at boardinga and then hit a plateau and couldn't progress cause it was to hard

How about I punch-a-size your face?

they are both the same difficulty its just that skiers can tuck and straitshoot but snowboarders must turn, plus we can spin like mofos scrunched up with a stylie grab but they have there legs spread and locked in one position making spins harder, also landing is different we land on our tails much easier but both are cool and both can be used to improve the other

i thought that it was the opposite...

snowbgoarding: easy to LEARN, hard to PERFECT

skiing: hard to LEARN, easy (although, not that easy, as evident by the numerous park rats with no on-mountain skills) to PERFECT

depends on who you are i think. for me snowboarding was too hard for me to progress, and skiing looked cool so i started skiing. skiing is so much easier for me but i let some boarders try my skis for a while and it was hard for them. also with the bigger thing, i think boarders and skiers go basically the same. i think in the pipe the skiers definetly go bigger. i think allthe skiiers who are going huge are progressing the sport to show what skiers are cappable of. also i think snowboarding and skiing are at a point now where they are pushing eachother. one goes big ,the other goes bigger. skiiers will always be on top tho!

i'd agree with hef, cept a lot of boarders are too high or stupid to perfect their skills, so they just shave the snow off the mountain and do 90 degree rotations onto the deck of huge kickers, then sit there crying for 10 minutes before they head into the lodge where they swear a bunch and talk about how big they went, and how skiers are all a bunch of gay fucks.

man, I think a few of you are confusing yourselves. Last year I bought a snowboard and went about 6 or 7 times. First time I went I ate it hardcore for the first two hours. By the end of the day I was carving blue runs. By the end of the second day I was doing pretty well on blacks, end of the third I was heading to the park (which I would land on my face =) Someone said it well above: snowboarding has a very fast learning curve whereas skiing takes more time. Skiers can afford to go bigger in some cases merely because they have four edges and more stability as opposed to two edges and a big flat surface.

'can you read what that says?'

'donna simma?'

'yes, that's right. now how would that appear in a phone book?'

'simma, donna?'

'that's right now Simma down na!

I boarded for 8 years, it took me a solid 5 years to learn how to throw a clean 540 off a jump. This past winter was my third year skiing ever and I am landing d spins and switch 7's. Personally I think it is a much harder to become a good snowboarder because it takes forever to learn and master the basic concepts and learning to spin is a whole different story. Within the first week on skis i was throwing penciled 5's. Having such a backround on a snowboard i think I am at liberty to say that snowboarding is much harder.

I've been steezed out since cubscouts

I have done some snowboarding, just for the fun of it. From what i have observed, snowboarding is easier to learn. But when skiers and snowboarders reach an advanced level, it is hard for snowboarders to progress. These are vague generalizations, but that is my opinion.

Dont forget your snorkle ~ Bridger Bowl

if you learn to ski first, then to snowboard your going to say skiing took me longer to learn and snowboarding was easy.

if you board first, and learn to ski later, skiing will be the one that was easy.

its because whatever you learn first gives you your snow sense, its kind of like air sense, its just something you get after experience, and it comes more naturually to some than others.

coming from someone that teaches both i would say that people can learn to ski easier than snowboard, like someone said before, for snowboarders its necessary for them to turn.

its easy to learn how to ski really really badly and still get down the hill fine. if you do it on a snowboard your face eats snow every 20 feet. this is why skiing is sometimes assumed to be easier to learn for the beginner.

i dont think learning how to ski well and snowboard well are far apart in difficulty. also as many have stated its easier to do different things in different situations on skis or a board.

what about mono boarding?????????????

Yea fuck them im sick of them parading around with their lisps and parades and shit. Thats fione if u wanna travel the hersey highway of another fellow. But dont fuckin runn around my city and cause traffic problems with ur parades.FUCK THE FAGS!

It all depends on where you start. A lot of kids that start out skiing, and then switch to boarding pick it up faster than someone who is just starting to snowboard. The kid that skied is already used to the sensation of snow under his feet, which helps alot, and vice verse. It all depends on how you learn first.

actual snowboarding, like carving is def harder, but rails and spinning etc is ridiculously easy on SB's.

shasta is a fucking dumbass, it takes millions of years for skiers to perfect there skill.

oh, and i think youll all agree with me and misty7, that skiboarding is by far the hardest.

oh, and snowboarding is easy. i learned how to snowboard with broken bindings and railboots on. its easier, and im sure if i had some decent gear that gave me some support in the old anklets, i think i could get decently alright in one season. its easy.

lyk someone sed b4 4 boarders its easier to do jumps and rails... they can nut it

i always argue about this at skool with my boarder friends. its hilarious because skiers DO go bigger than boarders. just look at some movies.

which one is more fun?

my theory is downhill skiing is easier than downhill snow boarding. but freeskiing is harder than trick snowboarding. example 50-50 a rail. case closed

It's just more trash talking BS. 'Easy' is all in mental perception and how your body deals with the forces that are applied to it. For some people, skiing is harder, for others, boarding is harder. But 'easy' is a completely nebulous and bullcrap term.

If my penis was as short as yours and I was posting naked pictures of myself like you are, I'd photoshop it too.

That goes out to all my homies who scream 'photoshop!' every time a cool pic comes along.

but the conclusion is... skiing is hard for some people, easy for others. snowboarding is hard for some people, easy for others. nothing is easier than anything, in a vast majority.

goddamnit. we are NOT progressing past boarders. some 6 foot tall kid on 160s throwing a 1080 over a 20 foot jump is not progression christ, just watch a recent snowboarding video, they still destory us. who cares if were spinning more. that doesnt mean were progressing more. they could spin just as much if they wanted too, they just chose no keep spins slow and stylie. THEYRE TRICKING US OMG. WE WILL SELF DISTRUCT OMG.

you cant say that because your skills from snowboarding tranfer to skiing

i think thats they are pretty much even, but it comes down to tricks. skis are easier to go off jumps and land, as well as spins. On the other hand, snowboarders can grab easier and do rails easier. They dont need to protect their nuts as much as we do.
