Earth hour

Here is a fun fact that will make you sick about your beloved "Earth Hour". If the entire world turns their lights off for one hour it is the equivalent of China turning off their lights for 4 minutes. As well most people light candles during said hour, candles are 100 times less efficient than an incandescent bulb. Your natural gas furnace still runs. When everyone goes to turn their lights back on there is a sudden drop in energy in the system which makes the energy plant have to burn more coal to accommodate that spike. EARTH HOUR IS A FUCKIN JOKE!
 
Going in I thought it wasn't going to be as good as everyone says. To tell you the truth it's actually really good, I had a chipotle chicken panini and its probably the best thing I've ever eaten at a faster food restaurant.
 
at this point I think almost everyone is "aware" of the problems that we are/will be facing. So to me it seems a bit pointless to spread anymore awareness.

It was never about the power spike or any of that. Opponents of earth hour who try to use that as a reason are just stupid. The people who talk about leaving all their lights purposely are just dicks.

For me I'm going to use lights during the hour WHEN I NEED THEM. I'm going to turn lights off in rooms behind me. Like we all should everyday. Earth hour is pointless.
