Early season rustiness

So my local hill opened last week because of warm weather, and today was the first day for me.And my skiing was like Ive never touched a pair of skis before. I mean, Ive never been good but if I cant slide a straight box without falling thats telling something. Feels pretty furstrating failing at the simplest tricks, but I still had a fun time so isnt that all that matters?

Are other NSers suffering from the same problem?

Doesnt feel pretty fun taking a huge step backwards every time season begings again.

try not to focus on how you feel like you cant even slide a box. put that behind you next time you go out. also watch edits of realy good skiers on here, and study their teechnique. thats what helps me at least

I usually feel super on top of my game really early in the season, mostly because there's rail jams and stuff that push me to try new tricks, and after watching vids all summer everything seems not as scary.

you'll be back to normal in no time, if you think about it you haven't been skiing in probably 8+ months, thats a long time to lose muscle memory. Just keep skiing and have fun

haha I had a terrible off day about a week ago. I was like leaning too far forward on all my spins. It happens to all of us, just need to keep going!

Why not? I live in a 10storey building and i've got a rail on the backyard, all you need is snow, the easiest way is just to buy plastic boxes, fill em up and put em in your (or your parents cars) trunk. So you dont even need a trailer.

Just remember to put the rail somewhere where its not in the way of anyone.

Or if you dont have a backyard, you could do one in the woods nearby. (someone will propably steal the rail at one point, so get one of those cheap pvc tubes). Just use your imagination!
