can u apply early decision a a college's honors program? for instance i want to get into UVM's honors college, can i apply ED there?

thanks

You should be able to. It's probably a college by college basis, but most kids looking at early decision/early action are going to be looking for honors colleges anyway, so I'm going to say you can. Still, talk to an admissions person.

well let me inform you

UVM's honors program has a different set of readers, so basically, there are two admissions departments: regular and honors. Honors won't see your app till mid march.

APPLY EARLY! seriously, its a big weight off you shoulders. So you will probably get in(if your looking at the honors college, you'll probably get into the regular, if not, well i wasted my time). If you have a strong application as things start coming in, in february, you'll recieve a scholarship. That means your in the running pretty much for the honors college. Then, in april, you'll get honors college notification. If you hear nothing, you didnt get in.

however, only 100 students get admitted into the honors, so your app better be damn impressive if your counting on it.

and is their any other ways to get a foot in the honors program, im a smart kid and i could get into a better college than UVM, but since its so prime for skiing my parents will let me go if i get into honors, its a saftey to get in normally

Again, the best thing to do would be to talk to someone at the school. If possible, visit the school, meet with an admissions rep, a rep from the honors college, a teacher from the department you want to go into, etc. Try to get their emails, and make sure you send everyone you meet a thank you note. Having someone impressed by you in person will go much further than an SAT score and GPA that might be slightly higher than the median.
