Earliest opening in area?

the lost trail thread makes it sound like they could be opening soon and snow king (small hill at jackson) usualy opens mid november on man made snow
 
the great falls tribune had a small article about this in today's paper they said their was a lift running. can anyone confirm this?
 
sunshine is possibly opening the 8th and louise possibly the 9th, ill probly go check it out towards the middle of the month if the snow looks good.
 
Great Divide will open next wedensday if they have the snow... Should be sick to have all those features to alot less people than at the jam.
 
i dunno about the rest of mt but were gettin hit hella hard in the bitterroot with snow right now. if things work out Losttrail could be ready to go in the next 2 weeks.

 
no, it'll be next week. and i believe they are both planning to open thursday, thanksgiving. i wish it was this week...
 
thats so rad, how is the snow looking? I am coming down dec 7-9 for military weekend. last year when i was there only 10% of the mountain was open
 
a few days ago, it wasnt looking too hot- but it has snowed a bit the past couple days, and probably 5 inches last night. a buddy told me he talked to ski patrol yesterday- they were up in the bowl, checking it out, and said it looks skiable already. they should start blowing snow soon. hopefully it will be good and they will open on time. yeah, last year was rough- opening day delayed more than a week, and even then it was only mr k. this year had better be better than that.
 
yeah great divde is opening on the 21st. pretty much no matter what. thats is kevins pride and joy (opening first) so everybody should come down! its gonna be fun!
 
why the 21st? do kids get off school for thanksgiving break that day? i wont be there then but maybe that saturday or sunday
 
day before thanksgiving and us community college kids get that day off so i should be there! hopefully it gets cold because great divide still needs lots of snow to open
 
ya dude they will need to be blowing snow 24/7 till then to get like one run..dude kip you down for going there saturday or are u gunna be out of town that weekend?
 
I'm going to Utah for Thanksgiving....where there also isn't snow. Anybody remember way back when Bridger used to open on time with a 50-60" base? Those memories have become hazy for me.
 
i know i get school off. all the schools in helena do. and even if they didnt he would still probably open, he likes to be open first! haha. so everybody come and join us.
 
hell yes i would be down for going one day, i am hoping that we get some snow to because i would like to go jib the campground one day and snow permitting i know of a sick jump spot by lamb creek off the highway that we need to hit up before the snowmobilers
 
targhee will probably open this friday.  they are trying too.  with yesterdays storm they now have 28 inches, or so they say.  we will see though.  apparently snow is in the forcast down there all this week, so it might be alright.  

but ya i am getting the hell outta here for thanksgiving too, gunna see if northern idaho pulls through as far as early season goes
 
Northern Idaho always pulls through. That is, unless you're black or jewish.

Aaaaaanyways.....looks like snow's in the forecast here for next week, so hopefully that will pan out. As of right now I'm just trying to decide if I'd be pulling out more hair with school and no snow, or school with snow. A question for the ages....
 
let me know man! hell i might even go up thanksgiving if i can get some people to go with me. im ready to ski :D maybe if bigsky is good enough ill make the trip over there thanksgiving day. you never know!

With 10 inches of snow up top in the past 3 days and the snowmaking guns blowing for the lower mountain, Big Sky is getting ready for a Thanksgiving Day opening.

and i think its supposed to snow more before then, so hopefully we will open on time, no problem.
 
Utah has alot more snow than we have, I have skied thier two days already this year and one day we skied 16" of FRESH! you just have to not be a lazy ass and hike for it!
 
Yeah, I'm not really up to date on the snowpack in the Wasatch, not to mention I'm not familiar with the area, so I don't think I'll be going into the backcountry. It's looking more and more like we're going to Moab for a few days instead, which would be freakin' sweet.
 
ya dude, well at showdown at least, like 3 years ago they stared w/ a pow day...im getting depressed, the webcam at showdown only shows like a tiny ass bit of snow.
 
losttrail got 5 last night so they have a good solid 20 inches in sum areas of the moutain. supossed to snow friday through monday here.
 
big mtn. does not open till december 8th.......such bullshit, but we are finally getting snow here
 
Great Divide dosnt have enough snow to open on the 21st its the first year we havnt opened then but we open the 23 and its from 9 - 9 at night so it sould be fun but just so everyone knows we arn't open on the 21st!
 
just hte lower lift. im not sure if the bowl will be open or not, but if it is my first run is gonna be switch down the middle of that!
