Alright make fun of me or whatever you want but i finally got my eagle scout rank and i need to write a speech. For those of you who are eagles, can you just send me your speech so i can get some idea of what to talk about.

congrats first of all, and for your speech all you have to do is basically thank everyone there. so, for example:

thanks to my parents because...

thanks to scoutmaster...

thanks to fellow scouts...

thanks to jesus...

without all of you i never would have achieved the rank of eagle scout

its wicked easy

"Hello and thank you all for coming to my ceremony, first i would like to thank jah and all that he has done for me, secondly i would like to thank good old mary jane because without it i would be stressin out all the time, i would also like to thank my parents for being there, thank you to ____(scout leader) for helping me, i would also like to thank my _____(girlfriend) because her tight vag along with marijuana helps me chill, oh and especially thanks to me because i did it no one else"

then give the crowd the finger and yell NEWSCHOOLERS REPRESENT!

yesssssssssss! maybe not the finger but yeah! ill ask my brother for his speech. congrats dude, thats awesome.

admirable and an achievement to be proud of. I was surrounded in and around the scouting program for many years. MY kids under peer pressure will not have any part of the program - that saddens me.

I would do an outline of your years of service and then end with this.

"ONE HUNDRED SCOUTS"

"Of any one hundred boys who become Scouts, it must be confessed that thirty will drop out in their first year. Perhaps this may be regarded as a failure, but in later life all of these will remember that they had been Scouts and will speak well of the program."

"Of the one hundred, only rarely will one ever appear before a juvenile court judge. Twelve of the one hundred will be from families that belong to no church. Through Scouting, these twelve and many of their families will be brought into contact with a church and will continue to be active all their lives. Six of the one hundred will become pastors."

"Each of the one hundred will learn something from Scouting. Almost all will develop hobbies that will add interest throughout the rest of their lives. Approximately one-half will serve in the military, and in varying degrees will profit from their Scout training. At least one will use it to save another person's life and many will credit it with saving their own."

"Four of the one hundred will reach Eagle rank, and at least one will later say that he valued'his Eagle above his college degree. Many will find their future vocation through merit badge work and Scouting contacts. Seventeen of the one hundred boys will later become Scout leaders and will give leadership to thousands of additional boys."

"Only one in four boys in America will become Scouts , but it is interesting to know that of the leaders of this nation in business religion and politics, three out of four were Scouts."

"This story will never end. Like the "Golden Pebble" of service dropped into the human sea, it will continue to radiate in ever-widening circles, influencing the characters of men down through unending time."

congrats i am an eagle scout too, well my cermony isnt for a little but i am other wise haha

"SUP YA CUNTS IM LIKE HELLA STOKED ON THIS AND WOULD JUST LIKE TO DROP A LINE FOR ALL DA FOOLS WHO BACKED ME IN THIS GAME"

congrats, i'm working on getting eagle now. damn project takes forever, signatures and approvals and pictures and writing... Just thank everyone there and put in some random fillers and you'll have a speech.

holy smokes i remember all those signatures. And the annoying required badges like communications adn citizenship ones. It sucks now, but it will be worth it! At almost all of my job interviews people comment that being an eagle scout is a great accomplishment

yeah, personal management is all I have left and i'm still going because dropping it now would be dumb and, like you mentioned, it looks great on resumes. plus i've done some pretty cool things through it, like philmont.

Congrats dude, I got my Eagle, a lil bit ago also. I'm just thanking everybody kinda on an individual basis, and thanking my parents mass for basically making sure I got it all done, cuz I'm a slacker and waited till I was almost 18. Again congrats.

Congrats man! I got mine 5 years ago. I'm very proud of my accomplishment and you should be proud of yours. As for a speech, fuck it, just stand there so everyone can applaud you!

As for the person who said philmont, it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. At the time I was miserable, dirty, and tired, but looking back, it made me a better person. I hope every boy scout gets to experience philmont.

don't know if this has beem posted but sounds like a good time to be drunk, walks up to stage thingy, "well this is quite the fucking honor, first thanks to my parents especialy my mom fo rgoing through labor with me, my dad for beating some sense in me. my pedo of scout master, and all the rest of you fuckers who I forgot, this is preety fukin sweet." and then start to flap your arms and run off the platform shouting "I am an eagle now bitch"

I have only have to get like 2 merit badges and then my project...But it's been like that for 3 years. I'm such a procrastinator

philmont was great, so much fun. it was miserable sometimes, like a 12 mile hike up a mountain when it starts to pour, then it starts to hail and all you want to do is fall asleep and now you have to cook. but overall it was totally worth it, i lost a ton of weight too. I grew a few inches while there and the hiking of course, the biggest thing was puking 8 times in 2 hrs the night before then not having much of an appetite for a few days on the trail. little food+hiking= lose weight, or death. :D

shit man, i was just about to work on my eagle scout packet when i saw this thread. i turn 18 this saturday, and i just need to write that stupid essay and have my scoutmaster conference, which is scheduled for later today. what did all of you guys write for your statement of "ambitions and life purpose"?

Congrats man, that is one huge accomplishment.

I'm thinking about getting my Gold Star (same thing as eagle but for girl scouts) but I know I don't have the time. I'm jealous of you being able to get it done, haha. My silver star took over a year and so much paper work and volunteering. Gah

one more thing, walking around an airport in your full scout uniform is possibly one of the most embarrassing things you'll have to do.

a lot of people respect it/something to talk about with others,

but mostly, helps you get into college/ get a job! and you learn a lot along the way.

yea you really do experience a lottt of stuff during the whole thing. And, almost every job interview ive had the guy has been impressed by it. I did some pretty sweet stuff with boy scouts. I did a 50 mile canoe trip, backpacking, skiing, shot rifles and shot guns, white water rafting, etc. Definitely glad i did it, even though some of the requirements at the end area a huge pain in the ass

what's philmont? isn't it some big semi-desert area thats reserved for backpacking? i've never been there, even tho my troop is really big on backpacking. we've done some sick trips, mainly our week-long ones during every summer. hiking alot every day for a week is really exhausting, but i have some of the best memories of my life from these trips as corny as it may sound. plus, the dads usually camp in different spots then us, so we can drink and smoke as much as we want. to anyone who hasn't experienced being faded in the wilderness, i highly recommend it

oh yea, and i just turned in all my eagle shit yesterday, which was 2 days before my 18th birthday. im so glad that i have nothing left to turn in

It's a mountainous region in the desert. There are a lot of different climates throughout the region. Some are deserty, some are covered in huge forests, and others are grasslands. It's incredible. Tell your troop to get down there. I can't wait till I have a son and I can force the little bastard into scouting so I can go back.

it's quite amazing how after we left base camp it was hot days and nights, but as we got up into the mountains the days were hot and the nights were freeeezing.
