Ok, Giro said this:

Dear Mr. Ben:

Please provide a license form for our execution.

and the Line rep said they had already spoken to a partner which I was guessing was Jib-Life.

So I think some things need to be set straight here because some of you seem to be getting WAY to carried away with what you are saying about the game.

Nothing has been officially announced about this game, no sponsors names have been dropped, a release date HAS NOT been announced, what systems it will be on HAS NOT been announced.

Please take anything you hear, unless it comes from this name, with a grain of salt.

Also please stop sending out e-mails to brands saying you work for the studio, or that your affiliated with the game. I am stoked your all excited about this, and that you only have the best of intentions, but you all need to keep your heads on straight and just be patient. Just because we answer a PM does not mean you are automatically a member of the development team with free reign to do, and say, whatever you want about the game.

Don't force us into a legal position please, that's not what this game is about.

With that said, to alieve some of your anxiety about the game, it has been under development for 8+ years, it is being designed by skiers/boarders just like everyone else on this site. We just happen to be as passionate about gaming as we are about the sports we love.

This game will be epic, and it will live up to your wildest expectations, just keep it in your pants, and please wait for the officiall announcements.

Thanks again for all the support guys, we are almost there.

-Jib-Life

it should be like gta. one big-ass mountain that encompasses everything, pow, bc jumps/terrain, park, bumps, gates, urban. so you can go anywhere on the mountain, not limited to trails. include lift rides and bars and ski shops where you have to learn mtn secrets and new tricks from locals, meet reps in order to get sponsored. and you can choose to help gapers or push them off the chairlift.

When you get any significant progress that you're ready to release Jib-Life, tell us and put it in your own thread.

I dont understand why there has been absolutely no announcements about this game whatsoever?

Surely it wouldnt hurt the game's sales if they at least made an official announcement about the game being developed and what systems it is on... nobody even knows that this game exists apart from people in this thread, and thats simply due to one post some guy has made...

I will continue to be Buzz Killington in order to keep everyone from jizzing in their pants thinking this will be the greatest game ever and that it'll be out in a week or shit like that.

I believe I'll be stuck on Gnarshmallow and Skate 2 for years to come.

Even though I do hope that this "Jib Life" thing comes to fruition.

Yes, obviously i want a dope ski game just as much as anyone else on here... but the lack of eny press release or any info whatsoever on a game thats been in development for 8 years and is "going to be epic" is rather suspicious.

im just playing devils advocate because i dont think all of NS needs to have a spazz attack thinking this game is going to be incredible when it could very easily turn out to suck balls or never even hit the shelves.

so can anyone give me an honest answer of when or even if the game is going to get off the ground, im stoked outta my mind for it.
I just wanna know the chances of this releasing in the year 2009 or 2010

It seems like the development team from this game is a couple guys sitting at a computer... how it will come anywhere near the likes of Skate is beyond me. Its not being developed by a proper game designing company or anything like that from what i can tell...

If this game was really going to be so great, im sure some sort of publicity would be going around and we'd have at least had some news about it.

I'm glad some other people are taking my side of the argument here... i think this is all pretty much BS. Although i guess im also leaving myself open to be pleasantly surprised.

Alright, here is what i think:
Obviously this game is gonna need a bit of support to get off the ground so the negativity doesn't help much. And i don't see what everyone is complaining about, at least they are trying to make a legit sounding game...I mean Jibbin is pretty legit and that wasn't made by a major company... also i'm sure that didnt take 8+years
Hopefully this game will come out sooner than later and i have a feeling that we will be impressed

Something thats been in development for 8 years should be off the ground by now....

and i dont think anyone here wants another Jibbin. I think what people want is Skate on snow... a proper skiing game for consoles.

Not necessarily. Look at how much our sport has changed in the past 10 years. From the into of the Twin, to today it has grown exponentially. It is finally leveling out to a point where we have a solid base to build with.

With every evolution the sport takes, the game needs to be adjusted so they are in tune with one another.

i didnt ask for a release date numbnuts, i simply asked if this game was ever going to actually get off the ground, as in when are they going to actually start working on it/facepalm

alright if i dont see a trailer by the end of january first 2010 im going to be very dissapointed

This game seems to look like its gnna end up being another Jibbin rather than a proper ski game...

i think this thread would be more productive if we all went back to trying to make EA making a game....

I'd like to think that I'm responsible for one of those "awesome responses" hahaha....guess I'll find out when my hands are on the finished product.

I think an independent studio with close ties to the ski community is definitely capable of developing a quality game, but why snub EA?
I'm referring to an earlier post of yours where you second guessed everyone pushing for EA's involvement...
EA treated skateboarding incredibly respectfully and authentically...why would they tarnish their reputation on cranking out a shitty game; especially when they have the foundation (the SKATE engine) already in place to produce a sure fire success?

Well there is one skiing game already out but it's pretty old. I'm sure some people here already heard of it but it's called SSX 3 On Tour.

But having a new up to date game would be nice.

All I know is that if Jib-Life doesnt follow through he is going to be ripped a new one by everybody. Coming on here and saying forget EA and having all these whitty one word responses. God I hope this guy delivers for his sake.

The guys not going to make a proper game. You cant make a game anywhere near the quality of Skate unless a proper development team is involved along with millions of dollars in budget. Hes full of crap.

the truth
this thread is all clearly filled with 12 year olds who believe everything they are told, stop being dumbasses we would definately know for sure if a full-fledged game was in the making and this would not happen less than a month after some thread on a low level site is created
btw newschoolers is huge in the skiing community but it does not have near the global power to just create some major video game
