As far as the battle between where the better skiers come out of east or west i would have to say neither if you really want to learn to ride its the midwest icey conditions + small mountains = learning how to ski in the worst conditions, truly enjoying a 'powder day' and since the mountains are so small all the fun is to be had in the parks!

 
I live in the east, but I ski east and west. I sort of agree with you, but there is alot of stuff in the west that is only in the west, like backcountry, if you go practice tricks out there, then huck em in the park. Thats a big advantage

 
I live in northwestern ontario (Thunder Bay) and it is gay. I'd have to say that ne one that says the midwest is better should get their head examined. Our park sux and is full of kiddies that don't even make it up tables and cut you off. They are gunna get the beats.

you people are fucking idiots. the west has fast icy runs killer backcountry crazy parks we have fucking everything. the west produces the best all around skiers. The east does produce some of the finest jibbers because you have nothing else to do. but i bet if anyone of you faggot park rats stood on top of a real mountain you would drop a 12 pound shit in your puffy pants

what wiener said. really though...a lot of good jibbers come out of the east cuz thats all there is to do back there. in the west we got the whole mountian to do shit with, which makes us better overall skiers

HAHAHA do you realize most of the best big mountain skiers come from the east coast or went to school out here. Just look at the graduates list from Green Mountain College in VT its like a list of skiers off of a TGR or MSP movie. Then most of the big names in new school came from out here. Plus east coast kids arent bitches...if its -5 out and icey we still go out and ski.

it's -20 out in the west and i go up to ski too, what's your point? and the jibbers are from the east, the all-mountain rides come out from the west. solid generalizatoin because it's mostly true. i'm from the west and i ski the whole mountain, not just the park. riders from the east, you ONLY have the park to work with, and you hit that. and in the west, our backcoutnry rocks while youre backcountry. . .wait, does the east even have something considered backcountry? i thought not.

thats some fucking bullshit.... there is def some backcountry in the east. maybe not as much, but some of the steepest, hardest terrain is in new england, like tuckerman'ravine... so if u don't know shut the fuck up

wow, i went to whistler and skied that back country and i didnt find it that hard... i actually love the pow alot more... its ezier and more enjoyable, but i think that they r the same amount of great jibbers that come from both places. but ya i plan on goin out to the west when i go to university... just like every1 else in the east.

ha, the backcountry of my home hill in WI is a fucking cow pasture, and the only powder at the hill is going up the park designer's nose. I'm not trying to bitch though, because anywhere I go I'm just stoked to be riding.
