Dying ski pants

This is probably a really stupid question, but will my red saga fatigue pants accept black dye? They've been sitting around collecting dust and won't sell and I was just wondering as I have some black dye sitting around.

Its highly unlikely that it would work and it could possibly ruin the material. or it could work and you would start a trend just like the dying full tilts thing

I think I might just go for it... Probably will make them not as water proof or not water proof at all as I would have to machine wash to remove excess dye after.

wont work, wrong kinda fabric, dont waste your time. only exception might be some white "fashion" laminated ones, but still, dont bother
