Dying helmate?

i am wondering if anyone has done this before?i checked around and didnt see anything. how would this affect the protection and the strength of the plastic?if you think its unsafe let me know and btw i would be doing this on a poc receptor bug.

But on the reals, I sprayed my helmet flat black. It looks good with a clear coat or two. I'm stoked (white to black btw)

seriously though if you have to boil it or whatever seems kind of risky to be doing with something like your helmet.

Go to safeway and buy some fabric dye... buy like 3 or 4 (the more u use the darker/more colour u will get). Follow the directions... take all padding/straps off the helmet u dont want to change colour. http://www.e-lacrosse.com/stech9.html (for a lacrosse stick but it works the same)
