is anyone else sad that all the good ska bands are dying out? five iron frenzy, mighty mighty bosstones, and the supertones probably not far behind, where is ska going? even though it doesnt have huge amounts of fans, there is definately a devoted 'cult following' as my one friend put it. so if you play in a band, consider gettin some horns and some good music

The Specials... now that was a true ska band

Lately it occurs to me... what a long strange trip its been....

The Specials were the best 2nd wave ska band. Big D is actually rather good, but i havent listened to them in a couple of years.

i think ska went hand-in-hand with true punk, and now that all these 12 year old girls have chosen to listen to 'punk', ska has unfortunately died out.

HAHAHAHA, is ska like emo, you are a funny man. And ska isn't dying its just going back underground, where the best music is made. Honestly the best punk and ska bands i have ever heard are underground bands.

...No, it's J.F. Cusson.

streetlight manifesto, i got their cd recently and have listened to it at least twice a day since i got it

If you ever catch on fire, don't look in the mirror, cause I bet that would really throw you into a panic!

my friend is trying veryy hard to start a ska band but either some kid decideds to drop out or the other members jsut dont liek the music

its all about the 609

well, i can see how you could relate ska to emo, listen to reel big fish 'turn the radio off' lots of the cd is about girls. only difference is, they're not whining about it like emo. yeah, its about chicks, but definately not emo

Big D and the Kids Table are awesome, I saw them at a show in Syracuse, I heard they are going to be at Warped Tour

How many emo kids does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Screw them, let them cry in the dark.

ska sucks. i like dancing to it though

sometimes when im running water to wash dishes or something, i think about how lucky i am to have such simple access to running water and how some people will never know such a simple pleasure.

then i let it run for awhile, just because i can.

Five iron's first cd was real ska, but then they went to mainly punk with horns.

reel big fish ARE the shit, if you didnt already know. check them out live, they're with a new ska band called suburban legends, who are supposed to be pretty good. they're albums are good, and they're talented, meaning they play as good live as on the albums

who watches the watchman?

Hoobastank's 1st album was skaish and dope, yet no one bought it.

yeah i remember the speacials. and then goldfinger. and then all these other bands that became shitty.

Ska will never die just fade and then come back.

In a lot of commercials on tv they play ska, probably because ska is like a 'happy music'

ahh ska.. i love it. you should try streetlight manifesto. they are very talented. they have good lyrics too. the slackers are also a very good 2tone ska. ska just kind of comes and goes. there was the 1st wave that was basicly reggay with horns. then 2nd wave that was (the best in my opinion) mostly a 2tone ska like the specials the selector... and now its the 3rd wave with a lot faster music and bands like reel big fish, FIF, streetlight.

the end
