Dying gear

so i have a helmet with these weird red and white ear pads and was wondering if it is ok to dye them black with RIT dye and if so how...

yes you can do it. you can dye things into a darker color, so red- to black would be fine.

I don't see why you couldn't. Obviously if you want to dye it, there isn't any electrical work inside it (like speakers), so nothing should go wrong.

Dye changes the fibers color, and shouldn't ruin anything.
