So i have a Glossy White bern baker helmet and EG2 goggle frame. Has anyone ever died these two? How has it worked? Ive died my silver fulltilt tongues black and they were fine! and ive also died the white ones purple and they were fine too. Will doing this to the helmet compromise its strength? and will the plastic shrink at all on the helmet and goggles? thanks!

my friend dyed his crowbar strap and frame and it turned out great using rit dye, but it leaves a mark on his face after he wears them all day. not sure if thats normal

what kind of mark? is it like a dye mark? did he not rinse it well enought after he dyed it? and i know the helmet is not like the tongue. thats why im asking...i dont know if it will ruin the foam either

Not if you clear-coat it afterwords. The issue with dying your helmet is that RIT dye requires hot water to open the plastic's pores. That hot water may compromise the strength of the helmet's foam, or separate the foam from the plastic shell. Neither of these are good because a helmet that's strength is compromised may not protect your dome as well as it should.

Yep. The key to spray painting is layers. Don't try to cover the whole helmet in one coat; spray it lightly, let it dry, and keep spraying on more coats until it is covered. Then do a couple coats of clear.

tell your buddy to wash out the foam in his goggles with laundry detergent and hot water 4 or 5 times. he wont have any marks on his face anymore if he does this.
