Dyeing Full Tilt Tongues

Do you think that dyeing a white tongue red for my Seth Morrison’s would be a bad idea?

Back when I was into rollerblading it wasn’t uncommon for people to dye their blades. I want a #8 tongue instead of a #10 but the replacement tongues are blank and my current ones have a red FT logo on them. The black blank is okay but a little boring IMO.

Would this not work due to the material and/or snow? Also would it effect the performance of the boot?

I don't see why it would be an issue. The dye may chip or some off but that is all I can think of

i can't say for sure but ive heard people say painting helmets is a no-no because the chemicals in some paints can have adverse effects on the strength of the helmet's plastic. id be hesitant to risk the same thing with something like a boot tongue whose function involves lots of stress on it

idk shit about plastics, maybe you do, but i'd do some homework before anything like this

Yeah, that’s my concern. I don’t think dye would but I am just trying to be sure. It was fine with rollerblades. I know spray paint is horrible for helmets and honestly idk why anyone would use paint instead of dye but I have seen a kid with a spray painted orange Bern.

RIT dye....people used to do it all the time back in the day....there is a whole tutorial thread on NS if you look for it.

That’s what I was planning and what people used on rollerblades. Sweet. Thanks for the advice.

Almost made this same thread. Has anyone tried dying the green and purple classics a different color? I kind of want to change the whole color of the boot, but I know when you dye lacrosse heads that are already colored, the old color still seems to be visible through the dye, it will only tint it basically.

Oh shit my bad, I just clicked it a few times because my computer froze on school wifi haha. Yellow like the old B and E’s

Tried dying my boots once and I ended up just staining them a darker shade...Protip: Make sure your water is extremely hot, like seriously super hot.
