Dyeing bindings?

So i got new skis and i don't need new bindings and there is nothing wrong with them, so i am mounting them on my new T-Halls. They are the PX 12's just with the roxy logo on them making them 100$ cheaper. So i was thinking why not dye them and be different (since they are white). My friend at my local shop said to cover the bottom of the bindings and where you see the din adjustments. My question is how do i cover those parts, would masking or Painters Tape work? I am using rit dye but should i use powder or liquid? if liquid how should i go upon doing this, i have only seen tutorials on powder dyeing. Does the rossi/look plastic even dye? are there any other places you would recommend covering when dyeing?

thanks
