Dvds to hard drive

hey guys, im tryin to put a bunch of my dvd's onto my hard drive so i can watch them next year at university. im havin lots of trouble though. i've tried a couple dvd to avi programs but i have not found a good one... most seperate the file into two or three parts or screw up the size completely. wondering if anyone has a good program for this (please say if it's a free one or one you have to pay for).

i do this when i out dvd's on my harddrive

i first use a DVD decrypter which you can find on a google

then i use this to convert it to avi. file type http://http://www.autogk.me.uk/

there you go its easy and free takes some time tho

I use dvd shrink 3.2 and it works quite swell. It's also free.

will it rip it to the proper size on my screen? as in exactly the same as if i just played the dvd on my computer

yes with autoGK it will automatically do that

there may be the black bars on top and bottom of the picture (depending on dvd) but will look fine

how do you do it for mp4 so you can wathc it on ipods

same thing you just need to find a converter on google which should be easily to find and convert the avi file to MP4 (mpeg 4)

figure out if u have a mac or pc, then hit google for some suggestions on the best for you, then hit torrentspy.com etc for some old fashion downloads. g'luck to youuu
