DVD film to camera

I'm going on vacation this summer and I wanna check out some dvd ski movies on the plane and I don't have a portable dvd player. I wanna rip some on my cpu and then just transfer it from there to the cam and I was wondering if some of you guys did it (just ripping a dvd to the cpu) and if so, what program you used, or other techniques. thanks

I did that...just plug the DVD/VCR etc int your cameras input and hit record (pretty standard option now I beleieve

but what wire do I use ? is there a standard input on every cam, cauz I know I have one that's an 's' or something that has holes like on a cpu mouse.

I tried to go straight from the DVD player to the cam but the DVD's were copyright protected and wouldn't let me do it.

I just tried with SM2 and SM3 and it worked just fine, so they must no be copyright protected, looks like your good to go

first, its not the CPU you're talking about its the hard drive, second the cable only costs about 10 bucks..

^yeah, I am not sure where the 80 bucks came from, Best Buy or Circuit City you can get Monster Cable for like 10 to 20 bucks

yeah I saw one for like 20$ CAN, but the better ones start at around 80$, but I guess the cheaper one will do the trick. I tried with superpark, 1242, rfa and sm3, all work fine, just hope they will on the cam. thanks guys
