They say it's not cheating if its a different postalcode... Quite fortunate since my street HAS it's own postalcode

look into the canon eulora's, unless you go 3-chip but then they get expensive. the prog scan makes a HUGE difference

I like to ski

the only dv cams that i've liked are the sonys...im sure others are good....but with my experience, the cheap sonys are better than some of the middle quality of companies.

check out the jvc gr-dvl520u its prety good, but i just bought one thats just a bit better cause i got a good price, 510. The jvc gr-dvl820u. havent used it yet but its looks like its gunna be sick.

I used to work at the future shop warehouse and I learned a few things from the techs in the repair shop. JVC and Panasonic are shit. don't buy them unless your asian and are only going to make crummy home video. JVC and Panasonic have run into problems when you operate them below 10°C. Sony comes in close second however they cannot match Canon, simply due to the fact of outstanding customer appreciation as well as there outstanding manufactuer warranty. If ya got the bucks go with Canon. If not sony is good too.

Canon is the shit, i have an XL1s and a few eluras. obviously i do this for as a job. I shoot on all canon gear, service and repair gets to be an issue when you are shooting skiing and fast outdoor shit where stuff goes wrong easy. I know a bunch of people that also use sony professionally and have no problems... If you got the cash, go for a GL1 or then new elura 40 (both canon) THe elura is sweet cause you don't have to bring a bag when you shoot cause it is tiny. (makes a world of difference in the Backcountry.)

'obviously i do this for a job'. shut the fuck up.

I just bought a Sony digital camcorder. Although it was very expensive, its great and will last a long time.. I hope!! It is a DCR-TRV340. Check them out.. They are great.

I got a JVC DVP3U and I love it. Its the smallest DV cam there is, smaller then the canon or sony. I do park and keep it in my pant pocket or jacket pocket and i dont even notice that is there, its basically the size of a fat wallet.

As for video quality, for a camera that size i am very impressed. I never had any problems with temperature and iv kept the thing in my pocket for a whole week when i skied banff. I think u can find it pretty cheap right now, like $1300 can if im not mistaken.
