Been hearing about these for awhile, finally got to see a pic and HOLY SHIT they are big.

203/177/193

Pretty sure Duret makes a monoski that is almost the exact same dimensions.

Seriously Fat

redonkulous.

though not sure why would need all that sidecut, I doubt you'd actually be carving on those. just more reason for me to believe that uber-fat traditional shaped skis are pretty dumb.

that being said it would still be fun to take those for a spin.

2 years from now we'll all be riding on skis with no less then a 110 underfoot...atleast from what i've seen recently...they will not keep them from getting fatter and fatter

My new everyday will be 113 and on the west coast that is perfect.

But 177? Damn. I think that we will start seeing the limit around there. Maybe some crazy day it will hit 200. But who knows.....imagine if you told someone 5 years ago that people would be skiing skis that were even 130 underfoot.....that would have just laughed. I can remember getting a pair of 185 Igneous FGS which were 88 in the waist and everyone just gawked at how fat they were. Now I use a ski that is 30mm wider in the waist pretty much everyday.

yeah, but skiing in washington is a different world than the rest of the west. last january was so much fun, what did we get, 29 straight days of rain, aka 29 straight days with freh snow in the cascades.

For sure. That is why I added the west coast.

For the East coast....113 underfoot would be a bit much everyday. Even in CO or UT it isnt needed.

We also have such heavy snow in WA that the extra width is really helpful

i took my viciouses to our college nationals in maine last year... it rained one day... then froze solid... ill tell you all i did on my railed viciouses was attempt to stop before hitting people while inspecting.

interesting that they're mounted with look novas.  wouldn't you want to charge on a ski like that?

KW Midfats would be my ideal everyday/all mountain ski for our conditions (if i could afford it), the heavy snow also makes soft skis preform like shit in chop, changing our needs.

I actually had a pair of 185 Kwood midfats last year that I used for touring.

Cue pics

There is another pic of the whole pair in my photos. Believe it is under quiver pic.

they were the regular flex, not the stiff. The regular flex is pretty soft, if I had them mounted alpine I would have prefered the stiff, but most of the touring I was doing was corn snow so I didn't mind. They had bamboo sidewalls to make them lighter. That graphic was one of the proto ones they were working on.

Sadly....had to sell that up. Super sick skis. Hope Smuggs is enjoying them as much as I did!

Kwoods are super sick. I am actually getting close to pressing some skis on my own using bamboo cores. If they come out anywhere near as sick as Kwoods I will be very pleased.

also, don't know if youve seen yet, but they released their new shapes.

They added a 198 twin, which could be sick, but they did add a bit of sidecut to all of the skis. The midfat is now 140/104/123 and called the archetype. It used to be 130/104/118. I actually would have prefered the old shape as the new one only has a radius of 24m....but I bet a lot of people will like that.

The Fat is now: 144/120/134 up from 136/116/124 (pretty sure)

their 198 ski is called the arrowsmith and is 142/104/125.

then the megafat remains the same @ 174/146/159.

Actually Duret is a french monoski builder, but as everybody knows monoskis dont sell too well. So they decided to sell their monoskis in pairs for powderjunkies. I dont remember if you mentioned the name, anyways theyre called Monster Le Fat

they produce snowboards as well....but their main thing is monoskis. As was stated about, I am pretty sure they have a monoski that is almost the exact same size (+/- a few mm). Just crazy.

I missed the Le, but the name is in the title
