Durable Outerwear

This year i had a pair of Ride Pants and i kept ripping them in random places including the ass..... i was wondering what is a good outerwear company that has great durability and is relitivly inexpensive( dont wanna spend more than like 175 for pants)?

you get what you pay for when it comes to outerwear. saga hold up great but it's pricey. depending on your location (PNW) Grr kills it but i've heard good stuff about sessions, 686, oakley, and section. idk if section is still in business tho.

maybe im unlucky but I find oakly is the cheapest outerwear iv ever had. My cout has sowing defects on 2 different pockets and on the shoulder where the stitching is undone.one pocket is completely undone and unusable. I have at least 10 different small holes from simply falling on SNOW. the coat dosnt clean easily if at all and it came with a broken button. The pants are also riddled with holes and you cant clean it to save your life. orage cloths you can just wipe with snow right after the stain and most of it usualy dissapears. I am never buying oakly outerwear again, especialy for the price it costs

That sounds rough man, I've had the exact opposite experience with Oakley outerwear. My pants and jacket look brand new after a season, and I took quite a spill on a rail last week. I thought I would get up to find a gaping hole somewhere, but they were in good shape. Sucks yours is trashed.

wow man that sucks like youvegotsmail ive had great experience with Oakley my jacket has met hundreds of rails since i suck so bad and no rips or tears and despite being birhgt yellow even the rail stains have come out easily in the wash. I always ge my stuff at backcountry so usually its resonably priced i feel for the quality but i can imagine the lower end models with 5k waterproof and stuff may just not be at the same level as the higher models like the one i have... interesting

You can always try out the Northface products, they're made for expeditions and should be bombproof for walking around in the sun. Buy them a size "too big" to add a little swagger to your ride.

Holden makes quality outerwear or The North Face. If you go TNF check out the foundation bibs, super warm, comfy and durable.

yah for sure but the thing is, I bought one of the high end models. what happened I think is that the material they used is new for them this year and they didnt realise its not sturdy

Fuck you, Patagonia is dope

Analog is legit, at least the high end stuff.

Old Oakley

Some sessions, mostly high end

Arc'Tyrex

Mtn. Hardware

Norrona

Saga

Come on man - It is Patagucci.

I have had good luck with session.

Next year I really wanna try out the Trew Gear stuff out of hood river.

It's still super solid gear though. I wouldn't buy it but its still good stuff.

I rode with the owners son last year out at Snowmass and he had some super dope Patagonia stuff that he said was going to be released this year but I never saw it at any of the stores or online.

I never said it wasn't solid gear, I'm sure it is, fuck it better be cause it's expensive.

I just don't like the company, their styles, or the people who buy that overpriced shit.

Ahh, sorry.

Ya, I agree with you now. Although on the occasion that some of their softshell coats are on sale those are a good buy. Most of their stuff is lame though.

my okaley was amazing. same with psecial blend, not four square. i know its out of buisness, but i just got some aeryx pants and the durability is off the wall

word bro.My brother speaks the truth, my white bonfire pants are holding up well. They were fairly cheap too.Personally I wouldn't buy white pants, because they are really dirty. Unless you like washing clothes to remove the dirt, mustard, ketchup...or enjoy squeezing a lemon to remove rust stains.

hmm i got the terrain jacket which is about medium price wise in their rage and it has done well... maybe just the high end fabric was new? either way too bad since i love my jacket

Agreed. I've put probably over 100 days on my Sessions pants and jacket, the jacket looks like its new and the pants are ripped at the bottom from getting walked on, but other than that holding up really well. Very impressed with their stuff.
