Dumont's new 2-year documentary

dumont is a sick skier, nobody can deny that. your stupid if you think hes not a skilled rider.

but as far as trying to make a movie about himself and hes not even that established, I think its kind of a joke. what does he think he is? he certainly is no travis rice, not yet anyway.

and he just trying to be a business man too which I can respect. but he shouldn't be so quick to jump on "opportunites" or whatever you want to call them. he is going to blow out before he even blows up. its like tony hawk and shaun white, if white wasn't careful and lead the way by hawk, he probably would have fucked up his pro-career, specially business and career wise.

That may be an abrasive comment, but I don't see how it isn't true. If skiing is your top priority, why would you stay in Ohio, surrounded by fat, white, subpar intelligence, midwest folk? You would do everything your power to go out west, live on your own and ski everyday, while working some bullshit job for $8 an hour.

maybe some people have commitments where they live, they have to be with family, they have school, etc. you can't assume that people don't move west just because they are too lazy.

I like that edit. I hate the front flip to front full or front to misty7 or whatever it is, but as a whole that edits dope. I didn't know Dumon was making a documentary, but I bet it'll be..... inspirational?

You can go to school other places. It's not like an education in Minnesota is good anyway. Get your GED or move out west, declare residency and go to an instate school.

Your fucking retarded kid, do you actually read what you write. I live in Ohio, and I can assure you that A: I am not Fat, B: I am smarter than you, C: is being White a bad thing now? Jesus you are the single most ignorant kid I know, not only are you ignorant, but you also are fucking retarded. Not only are you stereotypical douche bag like most uneducated people in the world, but you are also an idiot to think that people can just pick up there entire lives to move hundreds of miles away just for the luxury of skiing.

I love skiing, more than most people, but that doesn't mean next year when I am off to college that I am going to spend an additional 80 grand just so i can go to college out of state for the sole purpose of skiing. Not only is that selfish thought; because it would force my parents to work even harder to pay for something that they don't have the money for, but it is also illogical. Why would anyone spend so much more money that they don't have, go hundreds of miles away from family and friends, just to go ski, while they could get a equal if not better education 30 to 40 minutes away from where they right now live. Of course if you are very talented, and if you believe you have the chance to make it big in the industry, than that is a totally different situation. Now if I had the choice to go to school out west, and didn't have financial problems doing it, I would do it a heartbeat, and those are the people from East/Midwest who do so. Also ski bumming is not a logical solution, and I don't feel like ranting on anymore so well keep it at that.

Conclusion: You are an idiot, don't talk about shit that you don't know.

You're going to college in Ohio and you say you're smarter than me. That's funny. You are just out of high school and you say that you're smarter than me? If your parents can't pay for college. Move out west for a year, work at a resort, declare residency. Keep working, go take online community college for $240 a semester. Transfer to an instate school, with instate tuition. It should be the same price as your previous state's instate tuition. Though if you are so fucking brilliant no school in CO or UT will do. Take loans out for that or get emancipated and get financial aid. It isn't that hard. I understand you don't want to leave your friends and family, but if they're from the midwest they probably aren't that sweet anyway.

Thank you for reassuring me of my statement saying that I was smarter than you. I'm not even going to try and argue with you, your an embarrassment.

I don't want some long lecture, so I just skimmed most of that.

No one is arguing that Dumont isn't a douche, that's an excepted fact. But if I were training for comps or wanting to make a solid video part I wouldn't want to take time out of my schedule to ski some icy hill in bumfuck nowhere. He owes it to his sponsor to go there and be nice. Maybe he was hung over, I wouldn't want to deal with 150 kids when I'm hung over.

I know that since you're of an elite class of non lazy people who love skiing enough to move out west, you're not going to read a long paragraph..so I will keep it short:

Hundreds of kids showed up to Spirit Mountain in Duluth, Minnesota, to ski at Jib Academy and to see someone as skilled as Simon ski.

he was a cocky dick who didnt coach any kids and complained the WHOLE time

thus, making him an asshole.

in conclusion, I sincerely hope you die a horribly painful death.

dumont is pretty sweet. the keystone edit is very dope and i don't see how you could hate on it. its so sick.

Actually he does slay Pow, during Candide comp, it snowed a ton and he went out and slayed pow the whole day. I dont know how to imbed but here is the pic from Shay Williams.

About his doc, I think it is really cool., most of the time you see movies that doesnt show what pro skiers go through. It just highlights their skills and what not. This will give all of us a in depth look at two years of a skiers life.

hey, thread creator here, so i just checked to see if anyone commented on my thread since i made it and wow, quite the scene its caused. I just want to say that i made this thread to point out the humor in dumont using idea's music in a couple of his edit, which i mean, makes sense because they have the same style of skiing and everything... anyways, wasnt hating on the edit, i love the jossi and colby parts because they make everything look super easy and fun, i do personally think dumont and snowbladesforlife are douche bags, but that really wasnt the point here, asian allen had a very touching little essay that i enjoyed reading and i just want you all to know that I love my life, i love skiing, and i love you. except the two i mentioned earlier. end.

Ahh, the hard life of being a pro skiier.

Be seen doing one unfashionable trick in public, and you're all over the place.

It's kind of like the celebrity 'getting out of the cab crotch shot' of the skiing world.

Soooo....5 hours of the exact same pipe run over and over again?

No one's arguing that he's not a very skilled skier. He just seems like a douchebag and everyone that's spent any time around confirms that. And the fact that he's making a 2 year documentary about his life says a lot about what he thinks of himself. As other's have said, Simon Dumont is NOT the Travis Rice of skiing. If anything, he's the Shaun White (in more ways that one coughTargetcough)...though honestly I think higher of Shaun White than that.

yes he does seem a little cocky for sure. but afterall he his an x-games champ, world record holder, and did overshoot a jump like 200 feet at PC and came back to kill it, so obviously he is dedicated and has the right to be a little cocky. I certainly know if I ever beat t-hall in a pipe comp I would be a little cocky too. but I still don't think he deserves a 2-year movie-hes not that sick. I would rather see another movie about seth, shane, jt, or even collins. simon is just too much of a booter rat with generic style for a movie about himself. seems like he is just trying to seperate himself more from other skiers, but is doing it in the wrong fashion.

i'd much rather see a documentary of someone like pep... or anyone other than simon.. theres nothing really interesting about him

Am i the only one who thinks it looks like he trys really hard to appear like the "chill skier" but because he trys so hard he will never actually be a chill skier, and therefore appears fake?.. I'll be honest, i dont really like his skiing, not saying it isnt good, i just dont like it. also in any edit or podcast i see where he is talking, i actually cant stand to watch him, he always seems like hes putting on an act for the camera. i would never go out of my way to see the documentary, because if it is a documentary and not an extended film segment, it no-doubt will have him putting on his act in front of a camera....and why do i need to know about simon dumonts life anyways?

doesnt matter what he does, he is and will always look like a skiing gymnast.

when i saw him in strike 3 i thought he might grow out of it haha

I very rarely completely agree with what you said, however hat was a good argument and i whole-heartedly agree

I agree. but simon still puts together some sick segments that I haved loved watching for years. he needs to go back to his old self and just do some more riding.

I see a future movie about pep, just give him more time. he is still in his prime

tanner is so much better than simon its not even funny, all simon does is spin left and get big air

he cant grab it, in order for him to do that trick he has to move his arms to change his direction so if he reaches for a grab it will change the trick

I read the whole thing and after i was done i forgot i was on newschoolers.

I think your jealous because you seem like the kind of person who would want to get sponsored and move out from the midwest. With the promo's and stuff, why would you make one? Why would you want to get sponsored and stay in the midwest? Stop making promo's if you don't want to leave and just lap your park all day and have fun.

well... the MIdwest does suck , im not hating at all, its just a fact.... since the beginning of history it's always been better to live on a coast and there has always been more wealth/education/culture there.

Not to say that there is no rich/cultured/diverse/highly educated people in the midwest at all, but the percentage is way lower.

But you guys have the right attitude for sure - make the best of it and have the most fun.
