Word from Sunday River is that Simon Dumont just broke the world record for quarterpipe hit this morning. Apparently he went 34.5 feet out on his first hit and did a huge 5. He's taking a break right now but he'll be hitting it again later, probably trying to go higher. Stay tuned on newschoolers and freeskier for pictures.
 
none yet, it just happened and i heard from a friend who was there watching it. i'm sure they'll be up soon though.

that kind of risk taking is just plain unnecessary!
 
I hope they add that to Guinness. How big were the other peoples "Big Hits" comparable? That 1/4 looks amazing. I would love to see your cork 5 truck in slow motion on that! How much of the transition was covered?
 
Well, on Tuesday he hurt his heel, Weds, he went up but he was in way too much pain to try plus it was wicked warm out. Yesterday, I dont know if he tried or not, it was really windy.

not sure. Didn't seem like it. if it was true, then that information would make it out soon. NS is already so laden with rumors, no need to start more....
 
I can't believe how gay you have to be to start a bullshit thread about a fake accident that would have almost have killed one of the biggest icons of our sport. I hope that the motherfucker got banned.

There was a BS thread posting saying he had gone for 40 ft, ate shit, and was airlifted to boston. But that was BS and that kid's SN got banned, even though he never posts.
